Welcome to the second issue (finally!) of the...

ANTHRO COMMUNITY's CHOICE
(Dedicated to `cooley, the very best Anthro Gallery Co-Director
ever: We already miss you, news articles are not the same without you here)
Don't you know what is this about??

Does that mean you missed our
very first article?? Well, then, to let you know, Community Choice started out as a simple series of articles by ^
misskittyoooo where deviants could choose one deviants gallery and pick a few deviations from it to feature. In February 1st, ^
Helewidis gave a twist to that idea, the project soon extend and took the form of Community Choices News Articles, embraced by several Gallery Directors (including me!) and by everyone in deviantART.
The goal of this project is simple: To provide a fun and simple way of featuring good work from deviantARTs galleries in a collaborative spirit between Gallery Directors and the community. The purpose is to expose deviants artworks without the just post thumbs attitude - we feel this way the Featured works get the attention and respect they deserve!
So, if you feel a deviation is great and should be featured, you may want to suggest it to get a Daily Deviation (DD), but if you want to feature a whole gallery, or an anthro artist and some pictures from their galleries, then this will be the place. And maybe you'll see your selection in the next "Anthro Community's Choice" #3...!!!
OK, let's start here

Bobbie-the-Jean~
Bobbie-the-Jean has not only great Anthro work, but other amazing illustratory work as well! She is a digital genious, using colors brilliantly whithin each composition! This is definitely a gallery not to miss!

Leopreston *
Leopreston uses striking lines to enduce a great reaction from her audience. Her style is gripingly captivating, with bold shapes and characters reeking of personality!

*
Dustmeat*
Dustmeat's design in anthro is nothing short of amazing! The anatomy and concepts are tasty and believable. Not to mention, the color-work is fun and sure to put any sour-puss in a good mood!

AngryPrncessFor I Can Write it Better Than You (I know it's a WIP but you can't properly feature her gallery without including a WIP, her work sometimes is purposefully left incomplete for the aesthetic), the pose and mood given by the pose, especially the shoulders and hands, is probably what I like best about it. The care and detail put into Tristen's face and wings...again, all the texture, and warmth...but also how much love just radiates. I love how emotional her work is. It's such a powerful piece and I think part of that is from how it's not done yet. The little dots of tears near his eyes and the little individual hair strands that come off his head...she adds such tiny details and they really make the work look so real, even though it's stylized. It's almost unnerving, how it looks as though the figure's actually leaning towards the viewer.

dead-groupieFor More of a Duchess, I'd say the thing I like so much about the picture is the use of shape and texture, while not being -too- real. Her work generally features stylized figures, and in this one, the stylization of the Cheshire Cat...I really just love how he almost looks like a snake, more than a cat.
The whole picture is just different from most Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking glass fanart I've seen, you know?

It seems...more grounded. The characters seem more confident of what they're doing and where they are, like they've been existing that way forever, waiting to be found just to say, "hey, welcome! We've been waiting."

I know this feature is a bit short, because we only received two suggestions. I wish to thank both =
Katmomma and ~
jabberwockyjones because of the time they too to select their choices and send me them. I hope this new issue encourages more people to try it and note me with their selections, in this new way to feature some of the wonderful art we can find at the Anthro Gallery: nothing would make me feel happier than to get flooded with suggestions enclosing your Anthro Choices for a next news article *hint hint*
