Announcing Our Next Contest! "FractalDreams Music Interpretation Contest"

We love music! So we chose 9 songs to inspire your art. You will create a fractal that you believe interprets the music and lyrics of one song. The songs are listed below with a link to the lyrics and a place to listen to the song. Plenty of time to make something Awesome as only our fantastic members can!! Have Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rules

1. Create a piece that interprets one of the songs (listed below) with a fractal. In your deviation comments, you MUST include an explanation of your interpretation and a link to the *FractalDreams page.

2. The main component or focus must be a fractal made with any fractal program. Manipulations are allowed as long as the fractal is foremost in the piece.

3. We welcome both current and new members to participate! Only one entry per member.

4. The entry must be a NEW fractal that is not in your gallery before 5/24/08. The fractal may not be submitted to any other community prior to the end of the contest or it will be disqualified.

5. The contest entry deadline is 7/7/08 at 9:00pm / United States Central Standard Time.

**Special Note - We will not open any of the contest submissions until the end of the contest. None will be submitted on this site until the contest officially ends. Each entry will then be submitted when judging is to begin. So if you do not see your contest submission posted this is the reason.

6. To send in an entry for the "Fractaldreams Music Interpretation Contest" contest please send a link to your submission in a note with the Subject: "Contest Submission". Please send your contest entry in a separate note. In other words, do not send submissions in the same note that you have your Contest Submission. You May however still send in your regular 2 submissions per week. The contest entry will not be counted as an extra submission.

~~Judging~~

The staff of Fractaldreams will each select their top 3 choices.
Those entries will all be forwarded to the final outside judges and
(Take a look at their great galleries and give them a shout of thanks!).
The judges will then score each of these entries using the following criteria:

1. Fractal must interpret the chosen song and include a clear explanation.

2. Clear colors (not muddy or too dark).

3. Good composition and placement.

4. Clear, quality render with no unintentional noise.

5. Fractal is foremost in piece.
