For those of you who don't know the *DaydreamersRealm club, we're all about fantasy. In this vein, we're holding a create-your-own-creature contest. All this information is in our journal.

Contest Details

Create your own fantasy creature. Don't just give us an image or a description with nothing else to go on, give us something to think about.

Creatures have more to them than just their appearance - they have a lifecycle; they have family (or lack thereof), habits, abilities. All of this can be drawn upon when you create for this contest. We're not looking for the all-powerful here, we're looking for creativity, originality, thought, and effort.

Rules

Anyone (not just members) may enter this contest, only one entry per person.

Works should be submitted specifically for this contest, with a note in the comments saying as much, and you must link back to the contest journal entry.

All artwork is accepted. This includes visual artwork as well as literary submissions. Comments on a piece of art are welcome! Combine anything and everything you wish, as long as it can be submitted as one piece.

You may NOT draw on ideas that are not your own, including copyright work. Sorry, no fan-art for this contest. We're talking about creating your own.

No previously acknowledged species, please. (No elves.) We're interested in something new.

You may use stock photos to create your desired image, though original work is encouraged. Any source material MUST be credited.

Submitting

Send the club (DaydreamersRealm) a note entitled "Contest" with a link to your entry and we will add it to an entry list in our journal.

If you are a member and you want us to submit it to our gallery at the same time, tell us and we'll do so. It'll be submitted just like anything normally would be, but it will get an extra note in the comments saying that it is an entry for this contest.

For members, submitting to a contest earns you 20 points, and winning earns you 60.
