7,883 search results for hdr showed up under Photography > Animals, Plants & Nature > Landscapes. I was alarmed with so many results displaying over-saturated color, to a degree of distortion... ultimately abusing the hdr function! So in this news article posting, I decided to include technical results that display precisely monitored adjustments that are within the realm of reality. High Dynamic Range is about
range of luminance values, every zone of tonality containing detailed information from the darkest shadow to the brightest highlight, unless artist deliberately decides what details become lost. HDR is
NOT about fantastical saturation, it's not about applying Tone Mapping & it's automated adjustments only & then posting it with an hdr keyword tag! On the contrary! Use of Tone Mapping is fine for extra boost in weaker areas, but process doesn't end there! Photoshop offers more control with "Local Adaption," however requires patience & an eye for accuracy. What makes a successful hdr image, is an hdr image that is not so blatantly obviously rendered with the automation! So please provide these technicians with a well-deserved-recognition for using hdr with proficient accuracy!

I'm a hdr addict and I use it a lot, but I almost always try to make it look as natural as possible.
I use Photomatix for making my hdr image, but thats only 50% of the job, Photoshop is also a essential tool, and I use it to fine tune the images, to make them real as possible....

I've only got into HDR for a few months and I'm still trying to develop and refine my technique.
