Sleek Updates and more!Recap -
As most users know by now version 6 is being beta tested like crazy and will soon come to a monitor near you. With this in mind I should note that some things in the FAQ will be out of whack as we go through and cleanup all entries needing removal or editing. This craziness should only last another week, but could roll in to two and we do apologize for this should it cause you any inconvenience.

With the new method of uploading an avatar in place I would like to remind everyone that when submitting a new avatar there may be up to a 24 hour delay in the appearance of your new avatar. We also advise that you do not reload the profile page numerous times in the process of making your new avatar appear as this could cause the old avatar to be stuck in your cache. When this occurs you will still see the old avatar even if it has been updated. If this occurs you simply need to
clear your cache. Please note, the same also applies when you reset your avatar.

You might remember that our Edit Settings and Edit Profile pages used to be separate, requiring you to click on one or the other to reach the options within. But now, both the Settings and Profile edit pages are nicely packaged into one, easy-to-use page. The locations to our new Edit Settings and Profile page links are located in the same places they were before; the button list to the right of the stats on userpages, in the drop down menu next to our usernames in the information bar, and under the "My Account" menu on the right hand side of our message centers. Once there, you'll be presented with the ability to edit your Public, Personal and Subscriber settings all on one page. To choose a specific setting to edit click on any of the options on the left hand side of your screen. Make any edits you wish and click "OK" at the very bottom of the page once finished. If you have any questions about our new
Edit Settings and Profile page that aren't covered in the
FAQ don't hesitate to contact us.

Stykera's Corner
Hello there, deviants. With the introduction of the new
Settings & Profile page there has been a good deal of confusion over the avatar submission process. $
ewm has already talked about the delay that occurs in displaying a newly submitted avatar, and I'd like to discuss the new "reset your avatar" link.
The "reset your avatar" feature will set your avatar
back to the default deviantART graphic. It is very important that you do not click this unless you want to purge your existing avatar and go back to the default that is given to all new members of the site.
Also, while you are waiting for your newly submitted avatar to display, you should not keep resubmitting the avatar or keep clicking the "reset your avatar" link as both of these actions will only extend the time you will have to wait to see your new avatar to display.
In short, the "reset your avatar" feature is only for getting the default dA avatar to show on your account, and should not be used when you are trying to submit a new custom avatar.

Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark.
And a large group of professionals built the Titanic.
I noticed the profile page.
Cheers for the update. I was wondering why my avvy took ages to change.
