Stan Winston, April 7, 1946 – June 15, 2008

I still find it surprising that aside from little indications here and there, the passing of this great man has not yet been spoken of very much.

Any film aficionado would recognise this amazing individual, for his dedication and contributions to the film industry. Many very well known and loved film creatures have only been able to come to life, much due to this man's genius and creativity: The Terminator cyborgs, the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park, the Aliens, and my personal favourite - Teddy from A.I.: Artificial Intelligence... all of them real-life creations that embody far more character and/or tangible emotions than anything that CGI has ever been able to achieve so far. And for me personally, that belief will carry on for many years to come.

I thank him, from a great distance, for having kept a little bit of magic in this world, and for taking my breath away with his work ever since I was old enough to watch and remember movies.
