With the holidays at hand, this can be a stressful time of the year. Everyone is busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. But do take a moment to check out these relevent glimpses into the future.
Murk will teach you how to be horrible. But in like, an empowering kind of way, that de-rails in to all sorts of tagental thoughts about the shifting morality of man in the urban age. And maybe what kind of cheese is good on crackers.
Most people would kill to know what their future holds. Fortunately, you don't have go quite that far. Consult these 'scopes and use this knowledge wisely. This is the straight dope. Honest. It took me something like 20 whole minutes to write this shit.
I have been doing a lot of reading and research of the DevaintArt staff's failures. Watch how this account will likely get banned, regardless of truth.
The majority of staff here at DeviantArt has failed the art community as a whole. I've seen all the screen caps of (now hidden) comments, chat sessions that resulted in bans for no reason, and deleted journal entries. Did you know that there was a situation where a staff member gave two DD's within a short amount of time to the same person? When someone simply called out this mistake, the staffer responded with "it was an accident retard." Mature, right?
Wrong. When is it okay to call someone a retard when you're in a supposedly respectable position? Instead of clarifying the error, the staffer responded with anger and avoidance. When the issue was brought to a higher staff member, it was said that the situation would be dealt with. It never was. Instead the person attempting to inform the higher powers was banned. Mature?
In the midst of a million traditional art cartoons that border on absolutely brilliant, why was a deviation are far less quality selected for DD? Because the staffer that received the DD was awarded it from friends. Not just any friends, staffer friends, one of them was the same ban happy staffer from the previous paragraph. Cartoon artists with amazing work and no DD's should feel rather heated about this.
There was a time when DeviantArt was a decent community. This was made possible by responsible staffers that relied on common sense and good judgment. We that have been here for a little while have seen that deteriorate. Staffers cover each other on blatant faults and choose to ban members of the community as a defense against taking responsibility for there own actions.
I urge everyone reading this to consider the words here. This will only get worse, and this is not healthy for your art. Getting recognized by staff should not be from giving them gifts, being there real life friends, kissing their arses, or being family members. It should solely be about being a good member of the community and having art that stands out against the flood of emo snapshots and traced fan "art".
As previously stated, this will likely get me banned. I'm sorry to those that enjoy my art, but now especially I cannot see supporting a site that has chosen to collapse itself under the weight of e-peens and egos. I recommend taking the time to find better art sites with a higher standard of quality in terms of staff. If you don't want to see this go, you can attempt to contact the higher directors and moderators of DA. But there is a 99% chance you'll be banned, no matter how well you word the petition.
If you're doing well for yourself here at DA and don't see a problem, good for you. But know that there are artists that you will never see here simply because they saw a problem and attempted to resolve it. Who knows, they could have been your next big inspiration or that next +fav you desire so much.
DD's are admins choice. The admin who gives the DD need only like it; that's the only thing that needs factor into it. Don't like whats being put forward, take a proactive approach and suggest some to the admins responsible for that gallery; instead of bitching about how unfair it is..
Let's stop living in the age of ED induced paranoia of the the staff, sure it has its issues; and i'll be the first to voice a differing opinion to certain people in charge of dA.. Speaking your opinion wont get you banned; thats just pathetic fear mongering. It's how you go about it that will get you banned.
Other art sites? dA is the top of the pier as far as being an actual community is concerned. The other two that have the same feel are sheezy or stormartist; both resulting from mass exodus' of dA's "unfair rules" . SAn in fact is basically run by 2 banned dA members. So as far as other art sites go; there really is no better than dA.
Fairly easy for you to say isn't it? You've got your spot pretty much secured.
"Speaking your opinion wont get you banned; thats just pathetic fear mongering." <-- I would post numerous screen caps but I'm not naming names here, not even through a cap.

What you've just said here proves nothing thanks in part to your cute symbol. Those that are already taken care of aren't the ones that should be worried here.
This article is completely false and stupid, and if you get banned for SLANDER then from the looks of things you probably deserved it. Regardless, there are more than a couple places you completely got twisted.
Let me dissect your post a bit and correct things. You've been on DA for how long? Your profile says 3 years. Well, I've been on DA for 6 years.
There was a time when DeviantArt was a decent community. Let me tell ya, 6 years ago, DA was a rough place. The community was generally rude and abusive of newcomers. However, there have been a lot of changes over the last 6 years. A large FAQ was formed to explain how deviants should act, and what offences are bannable. There's now an Etiquette Policy, Copyright Policy, and Privacy Policy. dAmn is administrated by a large team of people rather than a few. It's only gotten better, and it keeps getting better.
Getting recognized by staff should not be from giving them gifts, being there real life friends, kissing their arses, or being family members. You want your art to stand out? Is that what you're complaining about? Or are you complaining about people having family members? I think that's how it normally works. Or are you complaining about the n00bs who kiss ass to get attention? It happens; just ignore them, eventually they go away. All you're doing here is complaining to get attention, which is also very n00bish.
If you don't want to see this go, you can attempt to contact the higher directors and moderators of DA. But there is a 99% chance you'll be banned, no matter how well you word the petition. WHAT!? The core staff and MN staff are very open, and on more than one occasion I've sent notes to various members of both staffs to inform them of a problem or inquire how something should be handled. There was one event that happened to me where I was banned from dAmn-chat for something (yeah, technically I was wrong). But it wasn't listed as a ban offence in the FAQ. After I sent private notes to several MN@ and a couple core staff, I was immediately unbanned from dAmn and the FAQ was updated. Sometimes mistakes are made, but usually the staff are quick to correct their mistakes. Bans are not given out on a whim, and the core staff does not ban on a whim either.
It should solely be about being a good member of the community and having art that stands out... So go be a good a member! Go make art that stands out! And stop spouting your own personal problems in the news section! What is news and what is not news? This IS NOT news.

Nope. I'm perfectly content being a beta-tester...
I stay true to myself and my art, and help others I see on DA, give quality critiques when I can, and report art theft. For me, the symbol that's next to my name doesn't matter as much as being honest and truthful. I've done that since the beginning, and I'll continue to do that regardless of what symbol is by my name or position I'm in.

Firstly; Senority is never secure by any standards; numerous have had the ` removed for a plethora of reasons.
Secondly; As i said, speaking your mind wont get you banned, its the manner in which you do so. When it gets to the point of being a troll and generally looking for any little discrepancy to pick at, that's more than likely when you'll end up banned. Former member of staff; former senior member !SubversiveImaginati would attest to that.
General response from senior member? Ok, so how about I list your little diatribe as general response from the disenfranchised? or general response from someone who in their opinion is so hard done by here that instead of improving their art; themselves or helping to improve the site which they so obviously detest though have nothing better to do with themselves then write about how much it sucks..
Show me a site which you think could rival dA in any way shape or form.
I've personally never heard of you before this little rant; and your site activity still has visible comments of February. So your community involvement is negligible.
It comes down to two options for you. Do something that will improve dA for you and in turn for others; or leave. Cliche; sure why not. But its the truth.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
