IntroductionI know so many people I have encountered in my life that have not been able to understand themselves, or had bad self esteem, or even just couldn't find a purpose in themselves. I have met more of these situations than I can recall, and the biggest one being myself. This is why I am starting this project, to help me and hopefully throw this out to the community so they can help themselves. And hey, even if you don't think your that bad off, it couldn't hurt. I find it quite fun.
What is it?The project is the practice of adding a verse to a poem
every day for
one year and one day. The poem has a specific structure it follows:
- The first line of the verse starts with 'I am'. The next line does not have to.
- The last word of the 1st and 2nd lines rhyme.
- An axample of it is:
I am the black raven who flew across the night sky,
Never fearful of flying too high.
Every day, as previously stated, you add a couplet to the poem, which is what I made an example of up there.
But, really, how does this help me understand myself?Poetry has a funny way of letting one express emotion they could not otherwise 'get out' correctly, and when you make poetry
about yourself and who you are, you express all sorts of things about you that you might not be initially aware of, allowing you to then be aware of them and possibly remedy them if need be.
I suck at poetry and don't like this sort of thing. If you need assistance rhyming words, try this site:
[link]I use it when I make a good line but can't find anything to rhyme with it.
As far as you not liking expressing yourself, or not being into poetry at all, you are free to tweak this project to your needs and situation. It dosen't have to be poem, it could just be statements.
I still need more informationWell, you're in luck, as I have of course already started my I Am project, which is what brought all of this on. You can view it here:
ConclusionI thank you for reading, and kindly ask your spread the word. Tell your friends,

this news article, and just let this fever spread. If you put good out to the universe, you will receive good in return.
Blessed be,

~
