7 Ingredients Of Good Corporate Design

`manicho:iconmanicho: reports, October 8
A great article at Smashing Magazine that every designer should check. If you're into Coroporate Design, I'm sure you will find this info really useful.

It’s hard to define design. We have a broad range of definitions to choose from: design refers not only to graphic design, but to design strategy, too. It is used in a variety of industries, such as engineering, architecture and Web design.

This means that design is not just graphical in nature (which is a form of visual artistic representation), but also the planning of processes to achieve certain goals. Large corporations clearly understand this and incorporate every form of design into their strategy to achieve success.
For a good corporate design, we need to be aware of two main elements, which can be further broken down into a total of seven “ingredients”.

"The Little Things That Matter" says it all, don't you think? No?
What I CAN tell you is, if you come here, you can see all the stories and meanings I see behind people's artworks! I'm not saying my opinion is or isn't one or the best, but if you're like me, you'd say, "Hell, who cares how professional it is or isn't, every opinion matters!" ;P

Resourcefully Yours // Show and Tell # 7

^znow-white:iconznow-white: reports, June 23
Welcome to Resourcefully Yours "Show and Tell”. A bi-weekly Article concentrating on the exposure of the Resource gallery for the true Treasure Trove that it is.

"Show and Tell" will give you an insight to the large and diverse selection of the fabulous Resources that have been made available to us by our dedicated Resource providers here on devaintART.To do this I have set up a small teams of "Resource Hunters" to go out into gallery to hunt and play with resources and applications they would not normally use by encouraging them to step out of their "safe/comfort zone” and try something new. Below you will see what my nifty team has come up with and what they had to say about their newly discovered Treasures.

Presenting my fabulous team of “Resource Hunters” for this time.

:agirlthing: by :iconderzorvadur:

Okay this time for the Resourcefully Yours // Show and Tell, I decided to really go out of the casual way I work. I have never made emoticons in my life so chose these for the challenge.

I looked for resources that would help me do what I wanted which also involved a lot of reading as well. One afternoon I was talking to *ki-liana and she wondered why there weren’t any emoticons on dA about two girls being cute with each other, at first this was meant to be a girls hug but I wanted to make it much more than that,so my boy and I started thinking what about a girl giving a flower to another girl, so my concept all started from there. :giggle: and here it is.

I decided it to name it A girl thing because there are things between girls that only they understand…

Give a clap for the resources that helped me create this emoticon

I have always wanted to try pixel art. I like it very much and sometimes even love how many details you can add on such a tiny canvas. I have seen a lot of awesome pixel art here in the galleries, but had to look up what the difference was between the isometric and non-isometric ones were. Same for general stuff.

Emma by :iconmollinda:

Inspired by artists such as `mizzdraconia I wanted to give combining photomanip and digital painting a go - to get that lovely sleek look a lot of fantasy artists use. And it just so happens I had a particular theme in mind so when Znow asked me to do this it was great timing!

I am in the process of writing some things at the moment, revolving around Emma who is a Fire Elemental. She uses a large smokey quartz cabachon pendant as an energy focus, which burns a bright golden orange when being used. Heavily influenced by an heirloom pendant my Grandmother left me, which is so heavy it makes my neck ache when I wear it :slow:

As soon as Windswept VI by *fetishfaerie-stock dropped into my watch box I was like 'OMG THAT'S SO EMMA' so the next step was to build the story around her.

The stock image was a little grainy after colour correction so I used the method

outlined here Airbrushing Skin Tutorial by =helly7307-stock (kind of - I may have adlibbed :paranoid: ) and worked into it afterwards with painting to get back the detail. I also painted the eyes in, the lips, the hair and the pendant.

I tried painting in her tattoo but nothing I did was quite right but the resources gallery

saved me with this brush pack Swirls and Seeds by *melemel I used them on a low opacity and burned/dodged them to get it to fit the skin shape.

After I'd fitted the flaming background Infernal Decandence 49 by ~LadyDeath666 around the model,

I used methods shown in my tutorial Texture Tutorial by `pendlestock to overlay the flames OVER the model to make it feel like she was being enveloped by them. I used the 'overlay' layer blending mode.

I really enjoyed doing it so thankyou for the opportunity

I would like to thank my fabulous team of Resource Hunters for playing along with "Show and Tell" for this time, and of course not forgetting the Resource providers that never cease to amaze us with their generosity for providing us with the best Resources anyone could ask for.

As always, please respect the guidelines for usage laid out by each Resource provider.

you are all welcome to join in , just drop me a note.
