I was recently writing a Harry Potter fanfiction piece with my friend Nikita and we were looking for contests to submit our piece in. To our dismay, we could not find any fanfiction contests anywhere on this site or any other site, for that matter. I looked through several literature contests, but I found that I was restricted in every single one. They say that writing is about expressing without limits, right? So I decided to organize my own contest for all those writers who find themselves restricted. This contest will be a wonderful opportunity for you to showcase your talent in the art of writing without the burden of limitations. There will be two categories:
-Original Fiction
-Fanfiction
Original Fiction is a piece where you may share your own story-be it a personal experience or a piece that you have written featuring your original characters. You decide the plot, you decide the characters. Ultimately, you are in control. It could be a short story, it could be a chaptered story (Not exceeding 20,000 words though. That is the only limit), and it could be a poem. The only rule is to express yourself in the best possible way!
Fanfiction is for those who are more comfortable writing a story loosely based on another story. For example, Nikita and I are writing a story based on the Harry Potter universe. If there is a book that you particularly like and you want to write a story relating to it, this is the category you should submit to. The rule is, however, that you must provide some background information on the original piece along with your story. The judges may not be familiar with the original, and its really time consuming to try and understand the original story as well as your story. If the story doesn't make any sense, the judges will unfortunately have to disqualify you. Like original fiction, your piece may be of any length as long as it doesn't exceed 20000 words.

Fanfiction: , Adrian (who doesn't have a deviantart account, but really knows a lot about writing)

The judges are looking for a realistic story with a spark of uniqueness. Something fresh and inspiring. They are looking for clean presentation, but creativity is essential!

How to Submit: You may send a note to either me or Nikita () saying that you want to enter the contest with a link to your piece. Additionally, you may e-mail me at irfanpathan101@gmail.com.

Prizes
-A 5 day feature in my gallery featuring your best works
-A 5 day feature in Nikita's gallery
-I will create a piece of your choice (could be photography, painting, literature) and it can be related to anything at all. You just tell me and I will create it.
-The results in a news feature
I will add more prizes soon enough. Any contributions/donations are welcome!

There will be one winner from each category (so two people will be taking away these grand prizes)!
