Our big one-act play competition has been released today, but what happened to the two contests of weeks one and two? Well I can happily announce that both of these mini contests have now been fully judged and I can tell you all the results.
Contest 1: Writing a Monologue
The first week of the month saw a phenomenal amount of submissions. In fact we had a total of 33 entries, which for a contest which was only a week long is pretty good going! These were judged by the much loved :devgeneratinhype:, and we were looking for pieces which showed a good character in performance. The entries were varied, some which achieved some of the elements, some which seemed to achieve a different set of elements.
So without further ado, I would like to announce and congratulate the winning entries...

Contest 2: Writing a Scene
The second of these contests not only echoed the momentum of the first, but also asked entrants to consider who they were writing for: the audience. We had four separate audiences: Children under 8, a group of teenagers, a group of male offenders and a group of women over 50. 16 people took the challenge and there were some lovely successes throughout.
*ninja-librarian (whose interview will be out this week!), assisted me in judging these entries. Even though we are very different people, our decision on the winner was completely neutral.

An honourable mention in the first contest, it felt like *orphicfiddler upped the game in the second contest and created a fantastic dynamic and amusing script that would appeal to the teenage audience.
