Interview with Alice Pini

*WCS-Wildcat:iconWCS-Wildcat: reports, June 25
Interview with Alice Pini *MrsCullen

As many of you may already know. Alice is my love. It is a great pleasure to interview her and see all of the things that motivate and inspire her brilliant art talent!

Alice, I have been watching your journals and artworks for sometime and the best thing I have come to see is your persistance to always continue to create art. I see you create so very often. Could you please tell us what are some of your inspirations and motivations to create such beautiful works so often?

It goes with my mood and feelings and someday inspiration is in the air! I find it listening to music, watching art and thinking of Scott, the boy I love. I like to see others art and since I was a child I always like the art books my parents had at home. In school I was so fascinating by the classic art and by artist such Antonio Canova, Bramante, Jan Van Eyck, and one of my favourite Hieronymus Bosch. I do admire him and his surreal and fantasy art. Here on dA there a lot of great artists and my inspiration are some deviants too. I like to learn by their new techniques and share with them my thoughts and also working on art together.

I know when I create my art I always seem to have a certain idea in mind before creating it. I would love to know, is there any sort of idea or picture in your mind before you create your artwork or do your feelings guide you through each work?

When I usually create a new art I don’t have a clear idea in my mind, I mean that I work step by step and the first thing I do is focus my attention on the model stock. I try to feel the emotions she wants or she seems to prove and I start to imagine of a scenery or of a story. Then I search for a background. When I have all the stuff I simply turn my stereo on and let inspiration come. I have to say that I’m very emotional so I really follow my feelings through each work, with every works I create I try to express something: joy, love, pain or sorrow, etc. For example, in my work “Left it behind” [link] the title can be assume in different ways. And -it- can be what you want, what you feel, maybe the pain, the sorrow or maybe... hope. But I'm sure never left behind hope! Always stay strong and firm. When I was little I was so much weak and vulnerable. I change much in these years, I change my behaviour and I grow up. The girl in the artwork is half naked, vulnerable, she feels weak, but she decided to left behind "something". In this way she can shine and look up at the sun without fears and tears in her eyes.
I have to say that I’m very happy when people say that they can feel emotions watching my works and also reading my poetry.

You have created some very dark and mysterious portraits, which are very focused in the female's eyes. Could you tell me a little of the mystery behind this?

Well, it’s quite simple to explain. I love eyes and the gaze in particular and when I’m looking at photography I’m so speechless realizing that eyes can tell me so many things! I’m convinced that sometimes the power of a gaze is stronger than a thousand words. In my portraits I like to play with tone, colours and light in the eyes I love to make them more powerfull and add contrast too.

I've watched your art grow and evolve so much. If you could take a look into the future that only you can see is there any other art styles and things you would really like to create and achieve through your art?

I want to continue to create manipulations as well and I wish I can become even more better! I’m interesting in photography too and I would like to follow some photography courses and try to get more involved in photography and self portraiture.

Many artists stick to one forum of artwork, through photography, traditional, poetry, and photomanipulation. These talents make you very different and unique. What other kind of talents and skill do you have and is there other things you do on your spare time that have inspired you?

Thank you. Well, when I first joined dA it was for adding some pictures I took. After take a look around I realize how many categories there are and how many talented artists! I was very fascinating and my first love was with manipulations. One of the first artist I begin to follow and admire from my first days on dA was *WCS-Wildcat. Thanks to him I begin to learn and try to get involved in manipulations as well. In my spare time I’d love to write and reading, one of my dreams is to publish a book and I’m really proud to won some literature prizes in the past. I love to express my emotions and I’d love to do it throught photography, poetry and manips. I have to say that my constant inspiration is my love, he gives me strenght and huge support all the time.

I know some people have given up their art because they don't like being critiqued or have experinced so much drama within deviantArt. I know even you have had a break from dA at one point. Is there any thing you like to do or a place you really love to go while spending time away from creating? What advice could you give to those who feel like giving up their art talent?

Yeah, I had a short break from dA too. It was mostly based on some personal feelings and not for critique or drama on dA. Away from creating art I’d love to spend time with my best friend and some of my friends here on dA talking on Msn. I’d love to talk about how I feel because sometimes I’m too hard with myself and I need to speak loud to make things better. In particular =Tinuviel88 , *intano , *Julijaaa are very close to my heart and they helped me a lot in my sad moments. Talking to Federica is a balsam to my heart, she is so caring and sweet! I think sometimes I feel down because of others and I know I don’t have to becuase I’m very strong. I learn that give up is easy and fast, but it’s not the right way to resolve pr fix things. My advice is never give up because of other people, everyone has power inside and I think the best thing is to know that no one can put you down if you don’t allow him to do it.
