Comics Writers are hard to find on DeviantART.
This is because many don't want to give away the plots of their comics, mainstreamers aren't legally allowed in some cases, others just don't think about it.
The main reason they are so distant from the comics community is because they are actually literature submissions rather than visual art. They are still, however, important to the comics community. Without writers, there wouldn't be comics at all.

There are lots of reasons to post comic scripts on DeviantART:
1. To recruit artists to work on your comics
2. To seek out publishers who might want to use you
3. To allow artists to use your scripts as practice, which also fills your portfolio with several different visual representations to your scripts

Comic Scripts are not unlike scripts for a show or movie. They are not creative writing but rather technical information and instructions for the artist.
There is even a specific format for writing scripts that should be followed.
