This week *fotoFRIDAY is throwing its support behind something `Beccalicious brought to dA's attention: Harmless.

Taken directly from the Harmless site:

Harmless is a user led organisation that provides support, information, training and consultancy to people who self harm, their friends and families and professionals.

This week, we are encouraging you to explore the thoughts and feelings that occur when one encounters hopelessness and may want to harm themselves. That said, please understand: the site is seeking pieces that will offer something positive and hopeful to those reading, and it is necessarily not seeking stories or poems directly related to self-harm. Instead, consider this a chance to get an inspirational message across for someone who might be feeling down-and-out.

To help you, *fotoFRIDAY would like to present the following photograph:

What's in this picture? Is it a moment of absolute freedom, of rule-breaking, of relief? Is it just someone having fun? What's the story behind it? The feeling? Well, it's your job to decide!

The concept is simple: write a poem, story, or short sketch inspired by the given picture. You can use the picture as a major component of your writing or just a small sliver--there is no definite rule in that regard. Want to write about sunsets? Sunrises? Drunken escapades on the beach? Love? Cell phones? Religion? Choices? The influence of Kantian ethics on Nietzsche's reading of Kierkegaard's interpretation of Cain and Abel? Go for it! The only limit is your own imagination. Consider this a weekly prompt to get those creative juices flowing.

After that, it's up to you to upload your writing as either a scrap or deviation in your gallery and paste the link in a comment to the fotoFRIDAY prompt journal.
