With *
shirotsuki's gorgeous grasp of color and expressions, she produced a fantastic art piece of a girl swimming in the middle of a rainbow. I simply love her happy expression as she swims with the fish. The colors are also dazzling and the highlights are extremely gorgeous as *
shirotsuki makes the girl wispy and light as a feather with the folds and sense of texture.

"Winter in Vale" by ~kuronaga
I actually found ~
kuronaga by accident on the dAToday page. She has a marvelous style placing tons of detail in her work. She doesn't just focus on the main characters but she also continues on drawing everyone else with emotion as no two faces are exactly alike. She literally captures you to a point that you would like to know what would be there past the 'window' that she drew.

She was one of the very first deviants that I met and I think this is one of the best drawing from her so far! As her character, Scarlet (from :devsanguem-deus

, is swept away, her shading is gorgeous and you can grasp the wonderful texture in her drawing. Speaking of textures, as her first time using one for the background, she did a marvelous job and I hope to see more of her fabulous art in the future.

This piece remains one of my favourites to this day from this artist. I love how she used a limited colour pallet and used thicker lines in some areas as if to give it a shadow without giving it a shadow. The look on the character's face still makes me a little sad each time I see it. My favourite touch of this image has to be the red fabric twirling down the right side of it!

"Rainy Windy Day" by *Jaya-sama
I love the colours in this picture a great deal. They are what stood out to me when I first saw it and got me to click the thumbnail. I love the angle of this image, and how they handled the wind. One of my favourite touches is how the character's in front of the 'letterbox' and the BG is still behind it. I also like how the artist managed to draw the umbrella, something that is a lot harder to draw than it looks!

"Waechterin der Zeit" by ~Miyanko-chan
This piece is simply stunning. From the windblown hair to the intricate time-piece insides to the glorious folds this work has my admiration. I love the way the artist coloured it, paid attention to detail and brought the image to life! My favourite part is the time-piece gears and how she made the metal look fantastic. I also adore the character's clothing design, especially the bodice and the gold on the sleeves.

"AT: Mary Magdalene" by ~lemontree11
I adore this work. From the blue roses to the red dress this image looks like the artist put a lot of thought into what colours they used. The details are also lovely. The little rose petals are so delicate, the cake in the figure's hand looks absolutely delicious (made me hungry for sweets! ), and the detailing on the dress is simple but charming. My favourite part of this image has to be the hand holding the cake, I love the lines!

"Ilenora and Hikari" by `touchedvenus
This wonderful piece by TouchedVenus is one of my most recent favourites. The colouring and lighting are great, as is the anatomy. little details like "the pervy demon face" make this image worth a really long look. My favourite part of this piece has to be the demon faces because even though the image is serious for the most part the additions of all the little faces here and there with different expressions shows that the artist has quite a sense of humour!

"illustCONTEST subm: Y. Junko" by ~touch-toushi
At my first glimpse over this work I came to find out it was a incredible piece... It looks simple in the overall, but there are lots of details you can see there... Just look at those lighty wings

that's what I'm talking about. Tough it's background looks simple, it's the perfect one to fit the mood of the entire image... And you must not forget about the colour, it was a happy choice!

Another simple image worth to spend some time looking at. I may look in a fanatism for wings, but look at those soft colors and those spreading feathers... The mood of the character sure fits the shiny background and gives some intensity to the image itself (after all, it is about the character feeling).

"Crea -snow+doodle-" by ~kariavalon

I was wondering around the manga/anime gallery and I found this little piece... For some reason, it just came up to me. The overall soft colors, the intencity of the white, the snow, even the "messy" lineart, they all fit together as they should... Simple, but effective.

A pure B&W breed

I loved this piece. It's incredible the effect you can do with just to colors. Solely with black and white ~
Issa013 brought to life a wonderfull work of art. Indeed, it's one of the best black and white visions I've ever had. The neatness of the lines, the great contrast between the two tones and the amazing constitution of the image (just make it big - look at that detailed background) they all bind together to make this.

"monotonous monologues COVER " by ~htx
Look at that! A tradicionally made explosion!
Take a look - it's hand made. Check the power of those colors and the way they fit perfectly together, it's wonderful. And that background is a must! The explosion is one of the best ever and if you look quietly at it, you'll see it's made out of ink. It's a unique style, ~
htx has shown here.

"Late B-day gift, Jyinxe" by ~Honeykitten
A very dynamic pose makes this pic catch the eye of anyone looking through her gallery. The expression is very animated and the background really makes the character stand out.

Another very active pose that is contrasted in a nice way by the softness of the colouring. The detail in the hair and face really adds life to this piece.

One of my favourite Halloween themed pics on dA, I just love the playful pose and expression of the girl in this pic. Her hair is also coloured very nicely, and the simple background makes me think of a card.
As you can see, everyone had a different approach to this but the outcome was the same: Deviants were featured by deviants! This is such a fun project and I hope to see your submissions for then next article!
