reports, July 2, 2008The Metroid series has always been known for its incredibly immense overworlds, mysterious stories, and great amounts of items. That together equals high sales, right?
Ever since I read the story a couple of years ago in Nintendo Power I was intrigued by Metroid Prime Hunters for the Nintendo DS. It looked especially interesting with all of the new bounty hunters, Kanden, Sylux, Noxus, Trace, Weavel, and Sylux. One of them, Sylux, even got his own ship, the Delano 7.
Metroid Prime Hunters' story becomes much clearer if you use the Scan Visor and scan all that you can. I'll tell you this: At the beginning, there is a telepathic transmission sent across the Tetra Galaxy; "The secret to the ultimate power lies in the Alimbic Cluster." You are later told what to do--to find the source of the power, contain it, or, lastly, keep it a secret.
Even though MPh is on the DS, the graphics are great for a portable system, except for when you view something up close... Of course, keep in mind that the developers had very few polygons to work with...
The controls were great. There are four control schemes, except that all of them have the same use for L and R--shoot and jump...
All in all, Metroid Prime Hunters is a great game for the Nintendo DS that has twisted maps and a damn good difficulty level. I recommend it for DS veterans
