Official Contest Notification

~TheWolfPack is hosting it's 2008 art contest open to all members of the wolf pack. There will be prizes and honors given to the top selected artists.

if your not a member, joining is easy just note our club and request to join.

The contest starts on August 1st and ends on September 30th 2008. We are also encouraging member participation in judging and prize donation.

This is an art contest for traditional or digital works created by members of ~TheWolfPack. Photos, photo-morphs, and literature will not be accepted. If there is an interested in a contest for the aforementioned categories, please let me know and we will plan something for the future.

July is Contest Sign-Up

To sign up as a JUDGE, please note the club and write a small paragraph giving the reasons you would be a good and reliable candidate for judge. On Aug 1 there will be a set number of judges and one chief judge who only votes to break a tie. If you are judging the contest, you are obviously barred from competing.

To sign up as a prize donator, NOTE the club with your donation, and your prize will be indicated in the prize section of this journal page.

August and September are work months, where the contestants work on and submit their deviations. The submissions will be submitted to the packs gallery and links placed on this page for easy access for judging. The Contest Topic will be released on August 1st thus initiating the beginning of the contest. The deadline expires on September 30th at 11:59:59 PM CHICAGO (Central Daylight Savings) TIME.

Judges have until the end of the month to submit their decisions. The decisions will be submitted to and tabulated by the Contest Coordinator. The resultes will be submitted to the Chief Judge, and then finally delineated here on this page.

Prizes (donated thus far)

The Club gives the winner of the contest the FEATURED DEVIATION spot on the club's home page, and the deviation will be renamed CONTEST WINNER. The winner will be featured for a whole month. The runner up will be featured there after for two weeks, and third and forth there-after at a week at a time.

From I would be willing to donate either a personal character bust of their choice and/or a full charcoal and graphite piece for some prizes.

From For a 1st prize I could do 2 charictors of there choice colored.For 2nd I can do 1 charictor of there choice colored , and for 3rd I can do 1 charictor of there choice not colored. Thanks for reading.

Judging Criteria

Each submission to the contest will be given an ENTRY ID NUMBER.

Each entry will be judged on a numeric scale 1 to 5, 1 being the lowest and five being the highest.

The categories for judging are as follows:
1- Overall Beauty
2- Skill & Technique
3- Inherent Meaning / Contest Topic Related
4- Uniqueness
5- Fulfilled Intent.

Once Submitted the results will be tabulated to give the submission a final score. For example:

Entry #0000 by score:
so out of a 5 star rating, entry #0000 scored 3 and a half stars.

Ties will be given a bump by the Chief Judge that will place the entry over the entry it's tied with, but not past the entry that scored higher with actual judicial points.
