Today I read a lot of journals and everyone conteined the same topic.
A letter wrote (in turkish) by one of most talented and rappresentative photographer whe have on dA.
His pics are full of sickness and at the same time hope and love.
Why?
Cause his camera is an hammer to hit the world and not a mirror to reflect it.

You are going to carry two notes in your pocket.

There will be written in one of them “You are the center of the universe” and in the other “you are nothing”.

You are going to read the last one when you fly in amber*, and read the first one when you begin not to enjoy your life…

These are the words repeated in almost classes of our sage teacher who is prominent in giving courses on life rather than elective courses.

Carrying in my pocket, recently, I am in need of reading the note which is written “you are the center of universe”.

Just leave aside not to enjoy life, I refused photography which I attached a crucial importance as much as life, I denied all the connections that have been made between me and photography that once was the aim of my life. I don’t want to see those miraculous machines which I dote upon anymore.

Articles, essays, books or anything writing photography is giving a rise to anxiety, induces me to increase the dose of the antidepressant.

Since I promise to write this, it nothing does but to agonize. I am also aware of giving nothing to readers.

Unfortunately, I lost my faith in accordance with these concepts justice-right-law in my “lonely but beautiful “ country dressed in “a state of subnormality*” for a while.

I am right now getting the answer of the question “Can there be lynching because of photography?”

I don’t think someone is going to read this except the page editor, but if I am mistaken, readers who spare time reading up to now will be curious.

I am sorry.

I am not going to give the answer of the question “Can there be lynching because of photography?” I don’t intend to talk about that ongoing approach.

The only thing that I want to state is, please be careful. Do not conceive photography as an innocent hobby, a profession for having a joyous time, or a tool of socialization by means of various internet sites.

Know that, the only photograph that you share has the force of destroying your life, altering it all of a sudden, please be careful.

* Fly in amber= What idiom do you exactly use when you think you are the king of the world? A kind of arrogance, megolamania, egoism?


I don't know another wy to support him, but I think to support a photographer as him is like support the whole meaning of ART!



A note for me, the autor asked me to quote it on my journal in order people can understand the whole story

"Erdal Kınacı, one of the most prominent Turkish photographer was arrested and taken into custody due to a judicial problem of one of the models displayed on his documentary photographs."

Since all the news on press which focuses on Kinaci is biased, we -colleagues, friends of Kinaci, and the other photographers- don't want to make things more complex. In addition, the judgment process has started, it won't be appropriate to make comments about him.

In few words... Kinanci ois not a free man anymore
