Resources for 3D

^joannastar:iconjoannastar: reports, July 4, 2008
For ^projecteducate, =demoncherry and I thought we would go through the wonderful resources on dA, and highlight some of particular interest to 3d artists :D

Models
First, you've got to decide what to render ^_^ Hopefully, these models should help :D

Poser Specific

Textures
Once you've decided what you're going to render, you might want to customize your textures with some of these:

Materials
Of course, you can always try materials too - already set up for your application

Backgrounds
You might have got your entire scene together by now, but if you haven't, why not try putting it on one of these fab backgrounds?

Lights
The perfect lighting can be hard to find. However these may help :aww:

Tutorials
Not quite sure how to do what you want? Maybe you're looking for some new ideas? Check out some tutorials!

Postwork
Now it's time to put the finishing touches to your piece. These resources should help you get it just right :aww:

Brushes

Actions

3d Stock
So you've used all that - why not give something back? Even if you can't make resources for 3d, your 3d renders will make great resources for photomanipulators and reference for traditional and digital artists :aww: Here are some examples of 3d stock.

Some final words
We hope you've enjoyed this resources feature and found some ideas for use in your future deviations. This is by no means and exhaustive list - there's loads of other thing you can do! For example you could use stock for pose reference or reference for building models. Have fun and don't forget to check out everything else that's going on in ^projecteducate's Stock and Resource Week :D

=demoncherry and =joannastar

Disclaimer: =demoncherry and I are both poser users, so if this article is biased in that direction, please forgive us!

oohhh that´s great, thank you for this resources

I think it depends on the file. I know there's a plugin for Maya to import poser content and scene files, but as far as models are concerned, they're all in .obj format, so for props and stuff it'd probably be a case of sorting through zips to find files you can use.
