Erdal Kinaci won the category People in the National Geographic International Photography Contest 2006 with a shot of a Turkish couple and one of their children. He was arrested on July 03, 2008 in Turkey for issues related to his photographs.

Illuminated in the background by a shaft of light, Huseyin Ates watches his wife and son accept food packages in the Turkish village of Malaklar. Huseyin suffers from a lung-related illness and has lost the mental capacity to work. His wife, Kiraz, does her best to support the family as a cleaning woman. Ali, left, is the youngest of three children. The other two attend elementary school with support from the Foundation for Social Assistance, where the photographer, Erdal Kinaci, is an active member.
Erdal is arrested ... I'm arrested too, when Erdal shall be free I'll be free too, and until this happens I can't share more dreams or I can do ?

"Doctor and photographer Erdal Kinaci has been arrested when his photograph winning the world champion prize of National Geographic turned out to be photomontage.
Kinaci has been arrested for "taking photos of the handicapped by deceiving and combining these photos via photomontage."
Kinaci works as a doctor as his major profession and is the chairman of Anamur district health group.
Kinaci won the category people National Geographic contest 2006 with his photo with the title "the street whorehouses".

So he does manips but saying that they are not manips. Is this correct?? Or is the news media not saying the truth.
Anyone have more info???
