A Zen feature for you restless souls out there. A collection of specially selected photographs from nov - des, show them some love And remember, being an artist is not just about producing art, but about appreciating other peoples artwork to
This feature was brought together by my watchers and hours of browsing galleries for inspiring pieces that have gone unnoticed. Here are the results, one hundred beautiful photographs with under one hundred favorites. Let's give these artists the attention they deserve <3
We have decided to organize this contest to motivate people create more art. We would be happy if you would give it a try. You can think of anything you want, just make sure you still respect the theme. You can choose to illustrate dreams, nightmares or even both of them. Anything you want! Try not to be macabre if you are picturing nightmares. Respect the rules, have fun and most important, follow your heart!
This is the third part of my "Best Of The Best" features! These features consist of my absolute favorite photography that i've collected since i've been a member of DeviantArt.
This feature's focus is on VERTICAL photography, give them some love!
I get a bit fed up of trawling the net asking people to have the decency to ask me before they use my images I'm no David Baily but when ever I put my user name into Google it pops up in some odd places, when I look further I find my images being used for all sorts, the most recent being as wallpapers on Blackberrys, they had been cropped and all copyright removed, they did leave a link to my page here but thats not the point. I left a message asking for them to be removed and saying if someone had asked I may well have said OK, I give them their due the images have now been removed.
I upload my images here with a simple copyright tag, I don't use the dA watermark as its awful, I don't allow my images to be downloaded simply as I'm trying to sell prints to pay for more camera equipment o I can hopefully get good at photography, I know I upload large images as I simply want people to be able to see them so its a simple case of right click save as! So what choice do I have, do I resort back to the dA watermark? Do I upload smaller images? Neither of which I want to do.
I turn to dA to help in this, if a member uploads an image but disables the download then the default setting should be to stop the right click on these images, I know it wont stop everyone but it will stop the bulk of it.
After all we upload here for the benefit of dA as well as ourselves, if we didn't then dA would cease to exist.
NB This is posted in Photography but will apply to any medium here.
Ive seen some sites using some kind of script that makes the picture black if someone tries to copy it. And there should be a warning when rightcklicking stating the copyright.

It's not difficult to disable the right click. A computer geek could probably find a way to get around it but I think that would eliminate a vast majority of the theft. I also do not use the DA watermark for similar reasons - it ruins the image.
It's impossible to protect the images. It doesn't need to be a geek, to steal them without the print screen function. The only way is really to make the images unappealing with the watermark.
Its frustrating, i found my pics on blogs from thailand and eastern europe and on photobucket the even the water mark doesnt stop them these days, i would like if DA stopped right clicking option
Not that any of my stuff is that great (most of its crap), but I wouldnt put it past some idiot out there ripping me off. DA seems like it could care less; its no skin off their hide. Too bad some of us couldnt put our heads together and create our own watermarks that people could download and use before posting their stuff...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
