Look at your computer setup and imagine that you hooked up a 3D printer. Instead of printing on bits of paper this 3D printer makes real, robust, mechanical parts. To give you an idea of how robust, think Lego bricks and you're in the right area. You could make lots of useful stuff, but interestingly you could also make most of the parts to make another 3D printer. That would be a machine that could copy itself.

reports, July 6, 2008People, you may not be aware of this, but something huge happened. Not only Mozilla Corporation has released Firefox 3, but this version does now support animated PNGs. Not only that, but there is also an extension that helps you creating them (since you can't do it with Photoshop) here: [link]
Now, what does it change for you?
Well, if you have once tried to create to GIFs before, you may be aware of some restrictions: first, GIFs only accept 256 colors max. PNGs can stand 8 to 24 bits. But more, if GIFs does have transparency, it only has 100% opacity, or 0%. Animated PNGs are like any other PNGs, and that means full transparency support, from 0% to 100%... including any values in between. That means no dithering any more.
But you don't have to read me to believe, just see : [link]
