People, you may not be aware of this, but something huge happened. Not only Mozilla Corporation has released Firefox 3, but this version does now support animated PNGs. Not only that, but there is also an extension that helps you creating them (since you can't do it with Photoshop) here:
[link]Now, what does it change for you?
Well, if you have once tried to create to GIFs before, you may be aware of some restrictions: first, GIFs only accept 256 colors max. PNGs can stand 8 to 24 bits. But more, if GIFs does have transparency, it only has 100% opacity, or 0%. Animated PNGs are like any other PNGs, and that means full transparency support, from 0% to 100%... including any values in between. That means no dithering any more.
But you don't have to read me to believe, just see :
[link]This feature has been asked for a long time (see this stamp, uploaded in October 2006:

)and the Firefox support surely is a great news.
Wanna see the first animated PNG on deviantART ? Here it is :

If I don't speak English good enough for you, let's just talk in French, I promise I won't even do one mistake
A statistic I read not too long ago had IE still at no.1 with a very very high ranking of users.
