PraxitelesI'm a 24 year old art student planning on breaking into the business some day soon. Recently I've been doing mostly digital work, but I do have a lot of traditional stuff also. Painter X and PS CS3 are my favorite programs, and acrylic and graphite are my favorite traditionals. ImagineFX magazine is what got me interested in the digital stuff. That magazine is so freakin' awesome! I've been doing traditional media since I was just a little kid. [I use] Macbook, Wacom Intuos3 9x12, and sometimes the 6D Art Pen. Besides my favorite artists and their works, I get a lot of inspiration from books and movies. My favorite classic illustrators are Frank Frazetta and Syd Mead. Drew Struzan is also pretty awesome. These guys are so creative. It's like they can paint anything they can imagine, and they can usually image a lot more than normal people. My favorite new artist is Marko Djurdjevic. He's just like the other guys I mentioned only he works digitally. Which is great for me because digital is my new favorite medium. I can't decide between
Robot Shooter and
Canyon [as my favorite self created piece]. I worked so hard and long on
Robot Shooter. I got some cool effects, and I like the action going on in it. But,
Canyon actually has a hint of a story in it.
Canyon only took a couple of hours to paint, while
Robot Shooter took two whole weeks. I guess I have a hard time liking something I barely touched. Let
Robot Shooter be the winner then.

uriskaI'm female, almost 21 years old, in an art college majoring in design, still learning. [My preferred mediums are] Photoshop CS 2, Painter 10, watercolor, acrylic, pencil, color pencils, acrylic ink. Pencil is for getting a concept started visually, and usually rough rendering. Acylic ink, watercolor and color pencils are usually combined for my traditional work, acylic for some of the projects, but I rarely use it now. Painter 10 is for some traditional work imitation (brushstroke), but I would prefer photoshop. Mostly, it is my favorite. Now I'm more towards digital illustration. My inspiration [is] from everywhere, people's work, media, news, life, nature, etc.
[I have too many] favorite people and works, countless. I'm willing to learn and admire from every good artist. So far I love my
"Goddess of Wine".

xSapphireStarsxI'm 15

[I] predominately [do] digital work for which I use Pixia. I really liked how digital artwork looked compare to colored pencils and markers so I just surfed the web one day for a nice free painting program and ended up with my beloved Pixia. [I use a] mechanical pencil and pens to first draw/sketch a picture then Pixia to lineart and color it in. I'm quite inspired my imagination/many of my random thoughts and the music I listen to. Dali can rank up there with my favorite artist, I can't pick any particular piece in general for my favorite work by someone. I need to become more cultured >_>
"My Little Marionette" would have to be my favorite, just because it was drawn almost spontaneously in my 3D art class, I wasn't even suppose to be drawing it at the time. Plus I'm happy with the surrealism in it.

artconundrumI am an upcoming artist of sixteen years. I work in the medium of oil paint. Sometimes I start with a preliminary pencil sketch and from there to the canvas. I use the most powerful tool a simple paint brush and a painting knife. Other people and not just artists [inspire me]. My favorite artist is Salvador Dali because he is the only artist who has been capable of digging farther than anyone into the subconscious. My favorite work of all time would have to be Picasso's GUERNICA a powerful black and white cubist painting which depicts horror in the eyes of the people but did it without blood and gore. [My favorite self created piece is]
A late brunch because it is of my most favorite artist and it shows improvement and I also limited my color palette.

HidesHisFace[I] only [do] traditional, pencil drawings. I really don't remember [how I got into it]. I did my first drawing when I was two years old. I use palette of 12 artistic pencils (8B-2H) and knife shaped eraser. I don't have one precise source of inspiration. Everything I see or hear. [My favourite artists are] H. R. Giger - for his unique style and details; Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn and Peter Paul Rubens - for their attention to details, shading and expressions in their works. I love all my drawings - they are like my own children in some way - but
Dulameel seems to be on the top.

ArtofLosingMy name is Carro, Im 18 years old and live in Stockholm, Sweden. Im a photographer/model. Ive always been interesting in photographing and I wanted to take that further so I began to modelling. When [Im] behind the camera I use canon EOS 350D, and when Im modelling Im the equipment but then I express myself trough clothing. Other models/photographers, CDs/magazines covers [inspire me]. My favourite artist is a photographer named Daniel Knutsen (dovearea.com), I love his way to play with the pictures and the angles he shoot in. And his prefect latex shoots. If you go to my photography account, ~
Curri, you can se my work behind the camera, but since Im mostly into modelling now my best shoot is the black&white one in my opinion. The photographer was easy to work with and since I came up with the idea I really wanted good pics out of it.

Laika83I'm a Scottish 16 year old working for my Higher Art exam. [I] pretty much always [use a] traditional [medium]. Pencil, acrylics, and watercolours, mostly. I'm just too hopeless with digital stuff. And some photography. Acrylics are new for me, I had to start using thicker paint for exams and such. But pencil and stuff, that's just what I've always used. [I use] quite cheap paint, and nice brushes. Sometimes I use inks.
Interesting faces, clean shapes, all sorts [inspire me]. Millais, Van Gogh and Waterhouse [are my favourite artists].
Avec Stylo, probably. Because I like the effect I got, for using watercolour.

CrossingMissVampireI use pencils, pencils, pencils... and my camera for sure!

I began drawing one year ago when we started drawing with pencils in art lessons, from then on it developed a momentum of its own. Into photography I got finally by becoming a deviant, all these amazing artists inspired me to do something on my own. Conceptual, nature and expressive photography I do love most, also traditional art and photomanipulations of all kinds. What me inspires the most is certainly music - but not popular, rock and other: Without classical music my life would be nothing.
