I was inspired by =hellobaby ‘s amazing “Talented Artist” features to do a feature of my own. Here is a diverse selection of some of the most amazing and unique artists that I have had the pleasure of discovering on dA. I have displayed the artists (in alphabetical order) with a description and six of their pieces in the hopes that the reader will take a look at their galleries and see more.

~City-Builder has a truly gifted eye for the world around him. Using real-life inspiration from all over the world, he crafts beautiful landscapes and architecture with unmatched detail and what can only be described as magic. Take some time to give each piece a long look. You’ll never notice the same thing twice.



With the insanity (or should I say “madness” of a Poe protagonist and the creativity of Dr. Frankenstein, ~dsantiag is a modern day mad scientist producing a captivating world of surrealist horror and fantasy. His attention to detail and unique shading style really bring the troubled heroes, dreamlike (or maybe nightmare-like) cartoons and enigmatic monsters to life. One look at his amazing work and you’ll never want to turn out the light again.



Though ~keshi-shiro draws inspiration from a variety of different sources, (mythology, fairy tales, even the ballet,) her exquisitely designed pieces have a style all their own. Each character (even the ones pictured in her fan art pieces,) is beautifully rendered in thin, detailed linework and given their own unique, often melancholy beauty and distinct personality. Such stuff as the best stories are made of.



~LordShadowblade takes a very different, yet equally brilliant approach to storytelling. Inspired by Florentine illuminated manuscripts, religious imagery and the writings of JRR Tolkien, her work has an epic, almost divine quality that draws the observer in completely. Besides her fascinating depictions of classic literature and the bible, be sure to check out her original characters as well; proof that her ideas are just as impressive as her art.



*ninaste’s art demonstrates refreshingly original takes on romantic and surreal art without resorting to the garish, superficial stereotypes associated with either. Instead, he concentrates on accentuating small but meaningful details. These include, the curves of the human body, the influence of nature (accents such as flowers and spider webs), and the detailed but not distracting patterns in the backgrounds. Rarely (if not never,) has the human condition been shown with such innovation and beauty.



“My cardboard box is haunted!” thus is the brilliant, yet somehow profound randomness of ~nytag . She uses an abundance of colours and materials to create radiant pieces of philosophical psychedelia and monochrome wisdom, all highlighting her unique sense of design and unique view on the world. She tackles themes such as rebellion, romance and loneliness with humour and care, keeping the world safe for anyone who’s ever felt different…or anyone whose cardboard box is haunted.



Last, but certainly not least, I’ve been watching *stylistic-division for almost two years and she never ceases to completely amaze me. Her art ranges from photo-realism to cartoons to complete psychedelic insanity with everything in between. Despite the incredible versatility, each piece is imbued with life, passion and in a sense, musicality. Her screen name comes from a Linkin Park song and her art can be described by another lyric in the same song; “the number one question is how could you ignore it?”
