deviantLIT is a club which will cover all forms of literature. Poetry, Prose, Screen writing/Scriptwriting, Songs, Books, Essays, &c.
This club was started this because, frankly we're all tired of off-topics. While a club on DA may thrive with contests and such, the chat will often be the center of a major downfall. We all do it, we all get off topic, we all sit there day after day and idle. We do it so much that we forget to come back and discuss literature. Instead, we talk about the latest whatever. We completely forget lit. Let me remind you that there are other chats and clubs for that-- and there's a wonderful little invention called 'Instant Message' you should check it out.

deviantLIT will cover everything. A strict rule enforcing the off-topics will weld, so to say-- everything a lit club SHOULD be.
Now, you might be saying, "Yeah, but there's already like 100 lit clubs. Why is yours any different?'
What we're about:

Contests. Lots of them. About one or two per week. And prizes way better than a sub or wishlist piece.

Workshops all day long. If you'd like a piece of yours to be critq'd, just ask away.

Non-threating atmosphere. Though this is not something you'll gain in your writing, it is reassuring to see every leader in the chat and club gets along with everyone else.

Prompts. Yes, the old fashioned gear-grinding peach pit of it all. Prompts will get your writing juices flowing. There will be a daily prompts, weekly and monthly prompt (All the information will be in the chat, and in the latest journal of *
deviantLIT Also, there will be about 5-10 prompts day in the chat depending on how many people are in the chat. Keep in mind that if you come in and idle, you will be kicked after two hours time.

Conferences, Essays and lectures. Essays will be written by staff and posted either in the journal or chat. These will help you, the writers to gain knowledge in terminology, style, syntax and clarity. The lectures, similar to the essays will be in the chat. An experienced writer will delve further into the gears of writing to allow you an even better understanding of writing. Keep in mind that we will be covering all forms of lit. Lectures. This basically is a questionnaire. We will select each week a writer to have a conference with. This gives you the opportunity to get to know your favorite writers here on DA, as well as gain knowledge on how they approach the page, what their methods of revision are and how they get ideas from everyday objects and situations.
