COPENHAGEN PETITION!!!

~hellknite:iconhellknite: reports, December 17
The climate is changing forever and we have to act in every way we can, aparently the petition is failing in copenhagen so it could be good just to take 2 minutes of your time to sign something that might potentialy mean the climate will be a bit safer and our world will not crumble before our eyes and all those countries and places that have death looming over there heads each day...i guess that means everyone...can maybe...maybe be a little safer... this is just my opinion...you all are entitled to yours as always, but still 2 minutes to sign a petition isnt a lot.

Why we shouldn't complain about deviantART v6

~decolorante:icondecolorante: reports, July 12, 2008
I am pretty sick of reading all those news about how deviantART v6 sucks and s**t.

There are two main things people complain about deviantART v6.
The first one is: "it's complicated, it is cluttered" and the second one is "who the hell should pay for a subscription now", though the language used is usually harsher.

First of all: I don't see the complications and the clutter. They added features and improved existing one, but they didn't really redesign the site layout.
Buttons are where you can expect them to be, if you wish you can even try to ignore the fact that there was an update. You just use the search feature normally and enjoy the fact that you don't have to check your homepage just to see who commented it.

You could try feeling the website for what it is now, instead of remaining attached to click-here-and-here processes you have learned by heart; try it, it's worth it, really. The new version lets you be more immersed into the amazing quantity of fresh content here at dA (that's right, half of the point of dA is watching others' art, for those of you who didn't know). The staff worked hard to provide the update to us, and if you really can't handle it, well, I might understand; but you could express that more kindly instead of flaming bad words in the forums and in journals.

Then, about the subscription thing. They are saying they are looking on the subscription package, trying to make it an awesome thing. But of course, some of you didn't even know that because you were too busy stuffing the forums with `I feel cheated` like posts to have time to check the developers' journals.

I have bought a subscription the day before the update and I don't feel cheated at all. In fact, I feel loved. Now people, even unsubscribed ones, have better access to my content and my visibility is improved, if you want to put it like that. Yours is, too. If you are selfish, think about that: more favourites from your watchers, more people reading your journals and commenting your userpage.
And if you aren't, then feel happy like I do, because being a subscribed member is a status, it means you pay people for this great work, because most of you know that deviantART is an unique place and, simply put, rocks.

Thanks to everyone who took time to read this notice.
I didn't want to be polemic or things, but ingrate people makes me sick.

Have a nice day.

I completely agree with you.
We should be thankful for the updates and new ideas that the staff here at DeviantArt are giving us, not complaining about something a self-less person would simply let go. I would love to see everyone complaining run a site as well as the amazing staff here.

Word.

I wish more people saw it that way. The update hasn't really inherently changed anything but layout, and provides a few new features which non-subscribers didn't even have before. It's a good thing, but people who dislike change are up in arms about it, simply from being too lazy to comprehend a new layout which isn't that different anyway.

IMO more people should look at the situation from the same standpoint you have. Well done. :)

This journal sums up my thoughts perfectly. I wish people would just shut up and enjoy what they've got now, dammit! I love v6.
:iconomegablue69:
I like the new version of the site, the message center is what I like the most about the update.

Also I'm going to wait and see if the new subscriber features make up for the features that are no longer exclusive to subscribers. If they're not then I'll just cancel my subscription.
