So, deviantART began it's journey almost 8 years ago now on August 7th 2000 as, primarily, a skinning community. It has changed so much over the years - new galleries, more styles being discovered, new versions coming out - Now it's the biggest art community on Earth with hundreds of thousands of members and millions of pieces of artwork... so, the eighth birthday seems like something to celebrate, right?

And because of this, here is a mini contest for you to participate in and enjoy The idea is to draw Fella, the deviantART mascot, enjoying a birthday party!

Now of course there are a few rules, but before I get bogged down in those, let me reel you in with the prizes

Rules!

1. Your entry must contain Fella and must be 100% your work. You're welcome to use these Fella pics as references, but only as references - no using the actual file.

2. You're welcome to use other characters (including fanart) in your artwork alongside Fella, but Fella has to be the main focus of the picture.

3. The artwork must reflect the theme in some way - Fella at a birthday party. It can be his birthday party or someone else's, but he's gotta be enjoying himself

4. Any medium is allowed on this one. Traditional, digital, static, moving... really, anything!

5. New artwork only, please! Entries dated from today onwards will be accepted, anything before shall not.

Alrighty then! I think I got everything, but if you have any questions then don't hestitate to ask - they will be answered

These are the bits that you need to read very carefully (alongside the rules, of course!)

Deadline: 1st August 2008, midnight EST (Find your Timezone)

That gives you about 2 and a half weeks to get your entries done! You may enter as many times as you like! There is no limit to the amount of entries you may personally submit

Send a note to ^DCZed with the subject "Contest Entry" with a thumbnail or link to your entry.

You will receive a note to say that your entry has been received. If you never get that note, resend your note containing your entry.
