Nature Photography...

Even if those of you out there say you are digital artists or painters etc you all fave and comment on the natural photographs that are submitted to DA once in a while, if not every day.

But I am not here to talk about the difference in our community I am here to discuss how nature and natural photography is being lost.

I proud myself in being a photographer who does not manipulate her photographs, I submit my work as I have taken it.

Yes I own a fairly decent camera, but I have only had this for a year, and previously all I owned was a basic digital camera, which some of my most popular photos are taken from.

Most photographers take their photographs on a daily basis just like I do, the problem I find now however is that most of these photographers manipulate the images on Photoshop and other programs.

Basically, I believe there should be less manipulation in the photography submissions.

I know that this community is about popularity for most people, personally I would prefer to get 100 comments on a photograph than 100 faves because I like people to tell me what is good with my work and what is not.

This isnt a rant on the people who manipulate their work to make it better, I just wish people who manipulate a lot of their work would place it into manipulation or state on their descriptions that it for sure has been altered.

When people don't make it clear the work has been changed in some way and still submitted into photography, sometimes it gives the wrong impression, and those of you who don't own decent cameras are put off from submitting your work in fear of it being ignored due to other peoples being so amazing looking, but remember, see if it is manipulated, and don't be afraid to ask the artist if they have altered anything.

Everything on DeviantART should be fair, and I believe that honesty is the best policy. So if you do manipulate your work a lot, and still enter it into photography, respect other photographers and state in the description you have altered it, being honest might give you more publicity too
