Animals, Plants and Nature Community Choice Vol. 1![]()
![]()
![]()
Inspired by a series of "Community Choice" articles and the Artist Relations Mantra - "Bringing Unity to the Community", many of the Gallery Directors have decided to reach out to the community and ask them to help choose artworks to be featured. The goal of this project is simple: To provide a fun and simple way of featuring good work from deviantARTs galleries in a collaborative spirit between Gallery Directors and the community.
If you feel a deviation is great and should be featured, you may want to suggest it for a Daily Deviation (DD), but if you want to feature a whole gallery, or a Nature Photographer and some images from their gallery, then this is the place. All you have to do is choose 3 -5 images (Photography> Animals, Plants and Nature ONLY), write me a note, tell me why you like each one, and thats it! Please be sure to put "Community Choice" or 'CC Feature in the subject line of the note. The frequency of the articles released will be determined by the amount of responses I receive. This first issue will be Community features as I did not receive a response from senior members; I hope this issue encourages more people to participate. I will be taking notes for Photography: Animals, Plants and Nature ONLY, if you'd like to Feature work from other galleries please check Community Choice List of Participating Galleries and send your note to the appropriate Gallery Director.

"Is one of my favorite insect shots because it just seems so natural and a candid moment between the photographer and insect. You don't normally get such a chance to find insects that aren't busy moving but `WaitingForTheWorms certainly has a knack at capturing them."by: ~nele102
"On glancing at the thumb it may seem to be your average capture of a butterfly but when you full-view you can see and appreciate the beautiful dew drops that are scattered across the butterfly and even on its eye. I love the colors of the insect mixed with a neutral green background, ~nele102 really has a talent."by: *pedroinacio
"Now most nature photographers go for colour and capture a scene with a mix of pleasing colors and sharp objects. *pedroinacio is a master of black and white and using light to accentuate his subjects. Mussels may not be thought of as the most beautiful animal in the animal kingdom but in this shot they look heavenly."by: `tExTuReMaTtIc
"I just found this shot today but I can't take my eyes away from it. We always think of our animals as being these candid creatures but this shot probably embodies their thoughts on the matter. `tExTuReMaTtIc really captured the moment."

"I've seen a lot of fantastic ladybug photos here on dA, but this one really takes the cake. The vibrant colors, solid composition, and the opportunity to get a glimpse of the ladybug in action (clutching a part of the plant!) add up to a beautiful photo. Be sure to check out the rest of this deviant's gallery for more insects and some stunning wildlife photography!"by: =M3tzger
"This gorgeous landscape shot demonstrates how the beauty of simplicity can be combined with the power of detail. There's so much to see here: the subtle nuances in the sky's contrast, the warm lighting from a just-risen sun illuminating the ground nearby, and distant snowy mountains waking to a new day."by: *wafox
"Sometimes the most impressive photos are those that reveal to us the unexpected or don't show us everything in its entirety. There's a beautifully suspenseful feel that this artist has captured: the sun in all its brightness and glory is still hiding behind the hill, just beginning to emerge. The lighting in this shot appears to suggest that there's a spectacular view of the glistening water out at sea that we're missing out on. But by showing us everything else - the trees, the hill, the abundance of rocks - this photographer demonstrates that sometimes the most beautiful views are the simple ones we sometimes miss or overlook."by: =BitterGrapes
"Either he's wondering about the lunch he just ate, or he's checking out something interesting in the distance! This fabulous shot with superb lighting, composition, and depth of field is simply priceless."by: =dandelgrosso
"Anyone who enjoys =dandelgrosso's gallery is familiar with his wonderful floral photography, and this picture is no exception! It's a very meaningful and beautifully composed photo with some neat details packed in - for instance, the way the camera focuses in on the lone flying flower and blurs the countless others that don't stand out, as if to make them less important. Wonderful job!"

"It's a yarn looking at a Yew tree's life, & how He feels."
