A collection of the DDs I've suggested up to June 15th, that haven't yet been chosen.
As *
Hadarniel so aptly put it in his
DD is for Don't Decline! article, "just because a suggestion for a DD you made doesn't get featured as one doesn't mean that you should give up on it." This is an effort to get these DD candidates some of the exposure I think they deserve.

"
To be gone" by =
Benperidol is a hauntingly beautiful landscape. The dark colors fade into the various specks of light, and it almost seems abstract, with only a hint of reality left in its features.
-----

"
Waves and shore" by ~
boreasz is such an odd perspective, it almost looks like a textured sky. A truly inspiring sunset.
-----

"
See No Boundaries" by *
xiaocaca will speak for itself. Incredible pencil work.
-----
The atmosphere on "
Starewell" is palpable, and the lighting was handled so carefully. I can't help it, her toes make me happy.

-----
I so rarely see trees handled with such care and skill as this pencil-painting, "
Arboreal" by ~
graemeb.
-----
"
Kill or be Killed" by ~
godwinfj has an incredible atmosphere and a message poignantly carried across in the expressions, the overall brush strokes, and the poses of the soldiers.
-----
I'm just absolutely in love with "
One times One" by ~
HeliotropeClaire. I so rarely find dynamic, interesting silhouette pictures, and this one immediately caught my interest.
-----

"
REITAAA xD" by :devtzelsalive: has lovely contrast and composition, great handling of the hair and other textures in the image. And that expression is just strange and simultaneously adorable.
-----

I'm amazed how these little balls of fluff in *
VinA222's "
blowball" seem to glow, and the textures those smaller patterns create. This is a lovely composition, and it creates a warm, fuzzy feeling when I look at it.

-----

"
Inspiration" by ~
oresama-shiko feels so messy and alive. The odd texture for the head gives a feeling of earth rather than skin, and as your eye travels back toward the hair, it almost turns into grass as the dirt floats away.
-----

The cat in ~
Little-Red-Pumpkin's "
Amelie" feels so alive, like it could leap off the page if it were finished. The expression, the fine hairs and the messy brush strokes create such a lovely, full character that's so interesting to examine.
-----

"
Snow Cone" by =
thaumadzo is a personification of life in its basest and most beautiful form.
-----

"
Opening" by ~
Tipi is a lovely, surrealistic watercolor.
-----

"
Toast Noir aka Toastacide" by *
BillCorbett is such a cute and strange little story. The floor plane, the tiles, and the characters all add their own levels of surrealism to this ironic twist.
-----

The rich color adds to the strange, wavy surrealism in *
Floriandra's "
Coffee for Mister Kline". It's a veritable sea of a scene.
-----

The expression in "
What the Hell?" by *
yellow-stock is so emotive, and I've seen quite a few deviants inspired to use this stock image. It definitely deserves a DD.
-----

"
Fly the friendly skies" by ~
hardnox757 is so eerie and surreal.
-----

"
My friend amber lynn" by ~
cliford417 is a lovely painting from an odd angle, with a fierce intensity in the expression.
-----

I love the dark atmosphere and the pose in *
VladimirBorowicz's "
Where wolves hide. The title just seems to fit it somehow.
-----

Such a simple composition, and lovely, milky colors. "
Lily" by =
HolyFlower makes me smile.
-----

"
Providence" by ~
joannaszutkowska is such a strange and interesting composition.
-----

I just love the atmosphere in "
Strider" by ~
schmoek, and the strange composition this little beastie creates.
-----

*
MarkNewman is an incredible sculptor. He has several views of "
Medusa", and the detail and composition are deserving of a DD.
-----

If you haven't seen *
yuni before, you're missing out on something amazing. A contortion artist extroardinaire, all of the poses in this gallery seem both impossible, and somehow plausible when you follow the careful attention *
yuni gives to every curve of the human body. "
Beyond the reach" is a particular favorite of mine -- it's like a maze for my eye, leading me around in winding circles and ultimately upward.
-----

"
Cheia sol" is such a simple but lovely concept. ~
spirala's entire gallery is filled with these little twists -- a good sense of composition, clean, sharp pictures, and interesting shapes and ideas.
-----

This composition of ~
sifu's "
Naked gymnastics" is just breath-taking to me. The contrast works well, the flow of the body really leads your eye through the picture and around again in an intriguing circle.
-----

The lovely pose and lighting of ~
Mechelle-Dee's "
28" struck me. It's endearing, languorous, and thoroughly absorbed in the moment it captured.
-----

On first glance, I thought "
Cat" by *
Dragarta was a well-done black and white photograph. The fine detail on the close-up is astounding, the composition is perfect and the expression easily draws me in.
-----

"
Wine Cooler" by *
mizdestiny is such a cute composition; a perfectly captured moment with a bit of a unique twist.
-----

It's not just another pet picture. "
Woof" must have taken ~
Richsii forever to get his dog to sit perfectly still like that. The dog's expression is priceless, and the composition is warm and inviting.
-----

~
eugene-o-k's "
Soap dreams" is an interesting concept for a black and white photo with emphasis on color.
-----

The concept of ~
rickshawpresents' "
tornado: tiny" is so simple and adorable. You'd never expect to see something like this under "still life."

-----

It seems like I so rarely see 3-Dimensional art that catches my eye, but this one definitely made me look twice. It's a perfect 3-D rendering of that familiar cartoon show that's "gone down in history."
Yabba-Dabba-Doo by =
vikung-fu has such rich color and thorough stylization that it seems strikingly authentic.
-----

I saw
RESPECT by =
Flutterings from another person's journal, and the concept behind it hits a chord with me. The stock is a lovely composition and the colors are pleasing, but the thing that hits home is the message literally written over the model's skin. This was dedicated to all the people who cannot see their own beauty -- with the message that beneath all those doubts and guilty thoughts, we are all still human.
-----
ASDF! If you knew *
Tsuxiau that would make perfect sense. This little emoticon is adorable -- the animation is seamless and well done, and the expressions are lively and entertaining. It means everything and absolutely nothing, which is exactly what ASDF is; and somehow, that manages to encompass so many emotions that I wish I could use this in chatrooms when that (everything and nothing) is exactly how I'm feeling.
-----

Beyond the lovely composition, beyond the eye-catching contrast of lush greens and pale grays,
Forest Creature by ~
floflo shows a haunting and natural face that draws the viewer in. The old, weathered and stubbly features and the hollow eyes feel alive somehow.
-----
Frame of Mind by :devLaRebuler: has such a musical composition. The dynamic lines of the frames lead your eye in a circle back to the lovely flower bouquet in her hair, and the frame of her body continues this wonderful rhythm.
-----

I could have sworn this was a digital painting when I first saw it.
Detial Opal by ~
Raipun strikes such an eloquent mood -- the colors, the soft lighting, and the exquisite detail, especially in those necklaces, deserves more than just a glance.
-----
Brussels by Night by ~
mara-mara struck me as something right out of a Noir movie. The angle and lighting are so dramatic, so that a scene that might be simple or everyday really screams of something dark and mysterious.
-----
"China Town 2 - Smi SP" by *
Blinck is one of the most incredible speed paintings I've encountered. It has everything a finished painting should have -- atmosphere, depth, beautiful lighting and colors. And the entire image seems to
sing.
-----
Not What Love is For - Manda is such a professional quality video -- the song is enchanting, the girl (Manda) is lovely, and the quality of the film is beautiful throughout. There's such attention to composition, detail, lighting and colors, everything seems to compliment the melody.
-----
Jelly Bop by ~
AliceInSummerland just bounces with life. The bright colors create a whimsical rhythm, perfect for a desktop background and something I would keep coming back to when I need a smile.
-----

"
you with the sad eyes" by *
Krapfen is endearing in its sweet composition. The soft colors and the sheer simplicity brought a smile to my face.
-----

"
old photos" by *
catygraf offers some of her most striking qualities as a photographer -- the limited color palette, the dynamic viewpoint and attention to detail are all attributes that make her pictures thrive.
-----

When I first saw
CAT by *
MustafaDedeogLu, I was blown away. The zooming technique he uses, along with the high contrast and the overall setting, give off an eerie, unnatural aura. On full view, my eye gets completely lost in those trees, and I get this overwhelming uneasiness that thrills me.
-----
The Icon by *
LaPurr blew my mind when I saw it. If I didn't know her, I would have thought this was a sculpture -- it has such a direct, bold composition and it sits so intricately well in space, leading the viewer's eye in a perfect spiral.
-----
Indepartare by ~
dorothei feels more like a painting than a photograph. The depth of this monochromatic piece draws the viewer back to the lone figure in the blurred distance, and makes him feel all the more alone.
-----
More Green Please by ~
welsix is such a simple but interesting concept. The texture creates a flat feel to the entire piece, so somehow the figure is able to blend seamlessly into the wall and become a part of the paint. There's a strange feeling of being wiped out or erased, but the lively colors seem to soften this interpretation.
-----

The back-lit beauty in
guler I by =
mehmeturgut really does sing. Somehow the style of this picture seems to create its own music -- a soft, rapturous, golden song that embodies Güler like a melodic aura.
-----

"
KMLY61408" by ~
jvrsta has an earthy feel to it that's difficult to accomplish in black and white photography. The composition flows well through the darks and lights of her form, creating something both sensual and calm.
-----

The dark quality of "
Promises" by :norwegiananette: makes that one poignant, central light even more significant. Symbolism aside, there's something about this piece that tells a somber, quiet story.
-----

I can't help but wonder a dozen things when I look at "
Easy But Not Really" by

ut-of-the-rain:. The pose and the direction of her gaze arouse a curiosity, while the soft quality of contours somehow render this nostalgic.
-----

"
What is stopping you?" by ~
boss13055This interesting little blob's composition caught my attention first. Once I fully viewed and understood it, I realized just how much sense it makes -- on the peripheral, we can see the beginnings of our excuses, and they melt together until all we have is a congealed mess. This unreadable center is what stops us. It's difficult to break away once our excuses have become impossible to read or remember.
-----

A haunting, eerie atmosphere surrounds "
Whose woods are these" by :kenket:. The wash of orange aura around those tangled trees, and the slanted ground plane heighten these sensations.
-----

I can't get over the ghostly softness of
Bound by desire II, by ~
panna-katarzyna. Such simplicity and symbolism bind this image together -- a sweet juxtaposition of innocence and something dark and hidden.
