My name is Dan, a.k.a. *Hadarniel, and one day I had a question


Whatever happens to DD Suggestions that don't get featured?


And that question soon turned into a whole new desire to feature the hidden talents among deviantART. Because we put effort into a good DD suggestion, and because we believe the artist deserves the honor, since they put even more effort into their deviation.
Just because the suggestion we send does not get featured for some reason, it doesn't mean we should just forget about it.

Why 'Don't Decline'?

Well, just because a suggestion for a DD you made doesn't get featured as one doesn't mean that you should give up on it
Feature it with me, and let's help it and the artist get more recognition!


So that is the idea behind DD is for Don't Decline!, to bring to you what some of us consider great deviations in need of recognition

Whoever said fractals couldn't be considered fandom-related hadn't seen *Shadoweddancer's Window into Minas Tirith. The artist makes excellent use of coloring, lighting, and composition to recreate scenery. And it's without a doubt resemblant to the movie's. But movie or not, it's a gorgeous fractal on its own.

An elegant greyscale flow happens on Thursday. Though the contrast is quite subtle, it has an undeniable charm. With an adorable, but daring model, ~brrb has accomplished a striking photograph that is great to look at.

Although belonging to the digital plane, The Last Supper is a beautiful image that has a striking traditional feel to it. One can easily notice how much work ~Tigermyuou put into this image, since details and color galore, and are used splendidly. Whether you're a believer or not, you cannot deny this is an astounding work!

What an amazing Spiral! It has so much depth you can nearly get lost trying to look around the corner. The soft, silky look, and the choice of colours going from soft brown to a dark blue, and ending in a bright sunny orange-yellow, enhance the feeling of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. This truly is a wonderful example of depth and 3D, and shows that spirals are definitely not boring!

Some of us find clowns creepy or boring, but Always want to be a clown is definitely adorable. It's a child's dream that will never wither in a photo. One can easily tell that ~heral put a lot of thought and heart into it.

Acedia - Sloth is a simple photomanipulation, but still quite appealing. It has a different approach to the concept than we'd normally see. ~mary-cherry-me has done a clever performance, only dyeing some of the model's hair to furthermore represent a sloth's inablity to finish what he started, and an empty look in his eyes that portraits a mind that has yet to accomplish fulfillment.

Repose is a beautiful fractal that certainly lives up to its name. Here, ~Kymemy has created a soothing underwater atmosphere with a dream-like lighting from above. Just looking at this fractal releases tension and stress, and puts the viewer in a happier mood. If only I could travel to that lovely place.

Faded Dreams is one of those fractals that has a vintage look to it. The colors and shapes are very lovely, but its most striking attribute has to be its conceptual appearance, depicting a memory like a beautiful fantasy. *Star-Maiden does a splendid performance.

Radiance to the max! Loved at first sight, and how could I not? A blazing flower that sings to me a beautiful melody, like a mermaid of fire. Transparent Flower by ~terforpova is powerful, elegant, and charming. It may be a bit on the grainy side, but I doubt it would be the same without that. My eyes burn with passion and desire for this fractal flame.

Zatanna is definitely an awesome cartoon-style character. You only need one look to know her better, but she still retains plenty of herself as a mystery. ~ScottJames also does a great job with color and composition, making his character even more appealing. She's way cool!

No Exit is a fractal that unquestionably hones its name. As one looks closer, a neverending maze unravels to a level of depth beyond one's grasp. ~rocamiadesign wanted to create something of the comic style (I don't know if she did), but she created a structure that reminds me of the pursuit scenes in superhero cartoons. Way cool.

As common as Julian fractals may be, each and everyone is different, and *xmandypandyx's Julian Heart is a great example of that. This is not the typical cute, love-filled heart. Quite the contrary, this heart is cold, and stares at the viewer with an eerie look that chills to the bone. Extraordinarily alive and strong, it's a one-of-a-kind heart.

Fox :3 may appear as simple, but upon closer look, one can see how this painting is almost life-like in a fantasy way. More than just a fox, I'd say that ~Hiroakzu-bw painted some kind of ancient spirit, gazing at the world, waiting for its moment.

Fan art isn't limited to just drawings, and this great tribute to the Legend of Zelda is a perfect example. Ganondorf prevails is a magnificent leather armor that certainly fits the dark lord it was inspired by. ~dale-elad must have spent a lot of time, as the great amount of detail is clearly visible. It certainly is a remarkable armor.

It's surprising how neatly organized this landscape appears. Trees and shadows has a charming air of simplicity that cannot be passed up. It's amazing how a bunch of seemingly dull objects can be turned into something amazing as has happened in Pipecleaner Electric Guitar 1.
