deviantART Presents: Wallpapers for the iPhone

$mhalpert:iconmhalpert: reports, July 18, 2008

deviantART: the best place for iPhone 3G wallpaper (or iPhones with updated firmware)

Apple's launch of the new iPhone 3G provides deviantART enthusiasts an even faster way to browse the world's largest online art community! With 3G technology, deviants from around the globe now have access to over 60 million pieces of art at never before seen wireless speeds.

One of the best new features on the iPhone is the ability to save images from the Web. Imagine, the power of 3G plus access to deviantART's seemingly endless supply of high quality images! Such an ability definitely makes deviantART the hottest place to get wallpapers for your iPhone.

(For those who have an original iPhone, make sure to update your software to take advantage of this new feature.)

Here is a quick tutorial demonstrating how to save wallpapers onto your iPhone:

1
Step 1
Go to www.deviantART.com on Safari and you will see the iPhone-optimized version of deviantART.
2
Step 2
Choose one of your favorite pieces of art and go to the deviation page.
3
Step 3
Tap and hold the image. (For a high resolution version, tap the image once to open it, and then tap and hold it.) You will get the option to Save Image. When you tap this button the image will be downloaded into your Camera Roll images folder.
4
Step 4
Tap on the Home button and go to the Settings application.
5
Step 5
Tap on Wallpaper and then Camera Roll and then select your image.
6
Step 6
By using two fingers, you can do a "pinching" motion to expand and shrink the image to the size that you like. Once you are done resizing and moving the image, tap on Set Wallpaper.

Now your favorite artwork will be displayed on the "slide to unlock" screen and on your phone application!

More mobile features to come soon! :thumb69415827:

Just curious, will dA ever develop an iPhone application? I don't know all the capabilities of the iPhone SDK, but if there is a way to set wallpapers from within a browsing application, that would be amazing. :)
