The Contest

The idea is for you to show me something about your country, show me as much as you want! Typical costumes, typical food, local culture, fun facts, your patriotic symbols, history, your natural wonders, anything! The most you show me, the most chance you have to win.

How is this gonna work?

You have to make a deviation containing these elements that show me how beautiful is your country. As I said, it can show me about your music, your landscapes, activities, etc.

For example, take a look to some of these deviations:



As you can see, each one of them represents a country, some of them shows typical costumes, dance, the people, landscapes or even a fantasy character wearing the national colors, I want you to make something like that but from YOUR country.
You can use any medium you want, it can be traditional, digital, photography, literature, anything goes, as long as it somehow shows elements from your country, it goes! I want you to be original and creative in the way you're gonna represent your country!

If you want, you can show me something about another country but yours, this means that if you are from Canada, but you want to make a deviation about Argentina, it's perfectly OK, just be sure that the facts that you're gonna show me are correct of course.

And why is this contest for?

12 of these pieces will be selected to be inspiration of the 12 original illustrations of the calendar I'm planning to do, that doesn't mean that I'll remake your piece, but I may take elements and/or influence to make the pieces that will appear in the calendar
Of course, all credit will be given to you for the inspiration!

Prizes

Me and a group of judges, are gonna select one winner considering: originality, technique and richness of the given country's representation.

There will be also a runner up and a People's Choice award

- A print of the Calendar (when it becomes available in [late] november)
- A six months subscription

Apart from this, 12 pieces will be selected to be part of the calendar, and will win a package of bookmars or stickers from =Thiefoworld and all participants will get a feature in a journal and a news article by me

Note! If you want to donate prizes, you are most welcome!, it doesn't necesarily have to be subscriptions, it can even be journal features and stuff like that.

Judges

How to participate

1. You have to make your deviation, remember, it can be any medium, literature, illustration, digital, traditional, etc

2. Submit it to your gallery to the proper category

3. Send me a note with the subject 'Thiefo's Calendar Contest' with a link to your deviation

4. If you don't want to submit your piece to DA, you can send me the file to thiefoworld@gmail.com

5. All the entries will be showed in this journal

Rules

- You can make as many entries as you want, just remember that it's always better quality over quantity

- It has to be a new piece, done for the contest, so entries only with date from today until deadline will be considered.

- Only one winner piece by person!

- Remember to respect DA policies! Nothing against DA rules!
