For new and old deviants alike. I guess I sort of wanted a follow up to

's article for newbies,
[link] where I've covered some and other things. Please note, I'm a joker. I hope I don't offend anybody my snide comments or opinions

1. Read the rules and FAQ
at least once. You'll make things easier by knowing what you're doing, you may be able to help a few people, so this,

, this

, and this

are much less likely to happen.
2. Kindness is the key to everything. If not, then I suggest buying a good lockpick. Don't use a lot of vulgar language or make offensive statements. Some people may feel uncomfortable by these things.
3. Comment. Comment. Comment. Don't just use one word comments, give constructive criticism, but for every negative, try to give

positives.
4. Thank people for things, like comments and criticism, favorites

, watching

, things like that. You might want to leave a link to the deviation they submitted. If they have similar works to you, or even if they don't, some others may see it and favorite also.
5. Try to write in English. Spanish and French are also biggies, I guess. It's really sad (for me) when there's a beautiful deviation or wonderful comments, and I can't understand

I suggest perhaps asking someone to translate if you aren't good at it, because being left in the dark isn't a great feeling most of the time.
6. Proper spelling and grammar is usually enjoyed. I rly rly h8 it wen pplz type lIke ThIs lYk ALL THE TIME, ya no? Try to make
at least 90% of your language correct. Typos and grammatical errors are common, but text talk and sticky keys get on a lot of people's nerves.
7.
Always, always, ALWAYS credit where necessary. Don't upload things that aren't yours, period. If you've edited a stock photo, make it unique! Don't just change gradients and throw on a texture. When you color a lineart, credit the original artist and put a link.
8. When using other people's things (brushes, bases, stock, linearts, etc) make sure to read their
Terms of Use before you do anything.
9.
Don't just favorite a deviation! I hate that! Read the author's commentary before asking questions. Sometimes it's useful to read the comments and give one instead of just favoriting carelessly. Not that there's anything wrong with favoriting something you like, but when you see something on the front page and you collect it, you never know, it might be for a club or somewhere they DON'T WANT A FAVORITE IN.
10. Search for things you love, things you like, stuff you can tolerate. You don't have to

everything you like the tiniest bit. Give a small comment like "I loved the way you drew this

" or "The lighting and colors in this shot are really good!". It makes people happy, and it doesn't take much effort to make a simple gesture like that.
11. Join clubs, enter contests, post news, clean your room, DO SOMETHING! *announcer voice* Get up and play, an hour a day!

/randomness. Ok, I'm joking. But do stuff, be active in the community. (unless you live in the South States. It does get really hot outside.) When you enter something cool in a contest, or join a club, or post something in your journal about something, people are more likely to notice you than if you sit around all day refreshing your screen for new activity messages.
12. Don't be afraid to talk to people. Find someone who agrees with you on something or takes interest in something you do. Discuss things, jokes, chat. Humor and sarcasm are big forms of entertainment. Just try not to be really offensive or obnoxious.

13. Quality, not quantity. Unless they're books. Then you can sell your vast selection of bad books for a more narrowed selection of good books.

I would. But when it comes to your deviations, don't upload just to upload. Do something you like. I always feel better when other people like my work, that I like as well, as opposed to when other people like something I really hate. It just feels different.
14. Expand your gallery. So you like anime. You're a decent artist. That doesn't mean you can't upload a pretty photomanipulation or a nice, old poem you wrote. Don't just upload drawings of popular characters, think about what you like. It makes things a lot more fun when you do things for yourself - other people who like your work will come, favorite or comment, and hopefully encourage you to do more of whatever you love doing.

15. Time. Patience. Practice. You may be a wonderful artist with no recognition. Your photomanipulations could use a little more realism. So your typography looks not as good as you want it to. Don't give up. When you take the time, and a little patience, you'll be able to practice more easily and happily, knowing that you're improving without forcing yourself to do something just to get famous or just because your fans like it.
16. Collaborations, art trades, requests. They bring you closer to people, whilst at the same time, give you a little more recognition. Gifts are always nice things to get, so make a person happy by giving them a, I dunno, "Happy 1,000th Pageview!" banner or writing a poem about the beauty of their work. *ahem* "Sincerity is the key to success. Once you can fake that, you've got it made."
17. Ask people to feel free to correct or inform you of any mistakes. Don't take it personally (unless they're being really rude), they just want to help you. And when they do, just say thanks. You could also help others by doing so, just be sure to keep your manners about you.
18. When someone bothers you or does something you don't like, keep it to the notes, not the comments. That way, others are less likely to get involved. Don't make accusations or give rude comments, just tell them what the problem is and hope you don't offend them. If they become very rude, then just delete your notes and (even though they deserve this:
19. Remember, not everything is a one way street. By helping others, you're also helping yourself by expanding who sees you. You may make a lot of friends, and perhaps make friends with their friends. People with only the slightest similarity in interest with you could become close. On your road to fame, don't forget who those people who helped you out in the early days were.

20. One way that would really get you to be a bit more famous, would be to stop reading this and go try to apply it. *bow* You are destined for success. You've got a long journey ahead of you, young grasshopper. Best to begin your training.

Friends stick together. Forever and always!
live for today, but look forward to tomorrow, and also don't forget to smile
Even if just pretending...drowning myself with hopes, I'll be happy...even if just for a minute, lost in my own fictional world.

If it doesn't damage your artwork, then I'd suggest scanning the picture in different areas multiple times and putting it together with an art program. ^^
If you don't have Photoshop or something good, then I'd be happy to try to help you if it works.
