A Fan Art Contest to Celebrate dA's 8th Birthday!

We are nearing deviantART's 8th birthday and, in commemoration, the Artist Relations Department has been brainstorming anniversary contests with the theme of 'eight'!

The Fan Art Department presents to you a wacky contest where (almost) anything goes!

The Details:

As per the title of the contest, the theme revolves around the Beatles! Now before you get uptight about having to draw Ringo Starr, the basic idea isn't necessarily to draw the Beatles themselves. Here we go:

1. You will draw/paint/craft/etc a fan art from ANY of your favorite Books/TV Shows/Movies/Anime/Manga/Comics/Cartoons etc. You can do fan fiction, but it must be a short-- 1500 words or less.

2. You must pick a BEATLES song title as your THEME! (this means you will choose a song from the beatles, and either base your artwork on the song title itself or an individual lyric!) You can find a list of tracks here with corresponding links to lyrics! [link]

3. Silly stipulation: You must include either the number eight, a graphical representation of dA's logo, or a small depiction of fella, the mascot in your drawing. It doesn't have to make sense, it can be TEENY WEENY as long as it is THERE. If you are writing, you must write in a reference to any of those ideas.

4. Please, in your artist's comments, let us know which song you are doing, and if you are doing a lyric, paste the snippet of the lyric.

5. All submissions must be acceptable under dA's guidelines. You may enter as many times as you'd like.

When you have completed your submission, please choose the following categories when you are submitting your deviation:

PLEASE NOTE THE CATEGORY WILL NOT OPEN UNTIL AUGUST 7TH That's right, you're getting a headstart.

August 15th is the last day you can submit it to the category!

Do I hear prizes?

Yes, yes, of course! Entries will be judged by a select panel of Gallery Directors and will be judged on creativity, fun, excitement, how well you stuck to the guidelines and overall skill.
