DeviantArt is celebrating its eighth birthday!! So why not re-celebrate your own? That's right, your humble lit GDs are asking you to dig in your past and remember what it was like to wake up on that morning of your eighth birthday. Show us in prose or poetry the activities, emotions, and significance of that birthday. Note: this piece doesn't have to be happy or cheery, in fact it can be fearful or even horrible. Be creative, don't stick to the facts too much! Use your creativity and skill to recreate the day.
Pieces can be fiction, nonfiction, or poetry.

You only have until midnight of August 31st to submit your pieces to

Rules:

The piece must be NEW and submitted no earlier than August 7th!

If you submit in a non-English language you MUST provide an English translation in the artist's comments.

You can submit up to THREE pieces. No more.

Prose and Poetry submissions must be under 2000 words.

The piece MUST be submitted to the contest category. No other category will be accepted.
