Lambo Screamer by =oggyb:When you say "Lamborghini", you think about a very wide, powerful, fast and beautiful made exotic machine. And when I say "exotic" I mean everything, especially the colour. And this picture, made by oggyb, makes no difference in terms of colour choice. A very shiny shade of green, very popular among Murcielago lovers.
Also, this model is nothing other than the almighty Murcielago LP640. Only those words make it stand-out in an instant. The shot, all in all, is excellent. The author didn't mention anything about tripod and / or using PhotoShop to give it a more dynamic feeling, yet the shutter speed which was chosen seems to fit well. Timing was essential and it turned out great. Great shot all in all.

-
SL AMG by ~fleo-ever:Sepia tone. I, for one when someone mentions that term, think about old pictures. An old-school look which has a drop of magic in giving a picture a very unique look. Same thing applies here. And what better car to add a sepia tone to, than this SL AMG. I doubt that it would have looked better in colour or even as good. The details, the lighting, everything is in the spot-light.
The car's silver colour and the pretty hight contrast level makes every detail (like the tailpipes or the AMG logo) shine and, again, stand out. Not to mention the depth of field, the background being blurry, thus giving the "subject" even more spot-light time. Adding to that old-school feel is the border, making it look like it has stood a test of time. Excellent shot. Probably one of the best car pictures I have ever seen.

325 Hi by ~whhoah:Old BMWs. Early and mid 90s design I mean. Very sharp edges, the specific BMW air vents in the front. Now it's a classic. Some don't like them, some think the opposite. In terms of design, I think they will remain as a very good design period, since these days they are way too round, too curvy, too not-classic. On topic is this picture of a 325 BMW.
Some might say "Ah well so what? Just an old car". Well maybe, yet this sepia tone with the blue midtones which were added makes it unique. And the black colour of the car makes it stand out in this fairly bright background, also the headlights being on add up to the effect. The border makes it look old-school.
I really can't say more just that all these feautures: sepia tone, old BMW model and the classic look of the border. Ingredients which make this picture usable in a frame and hang it on your wall. Or the BMW museum, whichever suits your fancy. Stunning shot.

Red Mirage 3 by ~ZondaC12:The Carrera GT is the most exotic looking Porsche ever made in my opinion. The Mirage GT is the tuned-out version of this supercar. Monaco is the place where rich people go to spend their excess cash in casinos, fancy hotels and to show off their latest acquisitions in terms of cars. Mix that place with the above-mentioned car and you'll get a recipe for an automotive picture success.
As the background is made out of concrete and glass (mostly) with the green vegetation growing on the side of the walls, what better colour for this car than red? Pure and simple a drop of colour in this ocean of concrete. The perspective of this shot is what makes it special and not like the "lot". Basically, as the title says, a mirage. An exotic German red one
in this exotic French spot.

-
Porsche 911 Turbo - Inside by ~TVRfan:The 911 Turbo. It made history when it was first launched in the mid 70s with its rear turbocharged engine. Today, when it reached its 6th generation, it's getting better and better. This particular shot doesn't look too complex, yet the lighting is what I think that it's making it look special.
The light coming from the front of the car and the way it's hitting it makes it look as if it is seeing daylight for the first time, when coming out of a dark and gloomy factory and hoping to finally get a home in his proud owner's garage. Nice shot, I wonder how it would look like in black and white.

-
Lamborghini Gallardo MultiShot by ~Maxi--Taxi:What can be better than a Lamborghini Gallardo? How about two of them? In different colours? All-alligned? Yeah. If that's what you're wishing for then this is your gift in the form of a deviation made by Maxi--Taxi. The show-room like lighting makes them stand out from the crowd and into the spotlight. And what better colours than green and orange all shiny and sparkly. I love the contrast in this picture between the two colours first of all and the secondary one as well.
Good shot if you ask me. I really wonder how would it look like if only the background would be black and white.

-
Ferrari Testarossa 512 TR by ~short-shift90:Ferrari. Probably the greatest symbol of Italian automotive industry. And what's a symbol without a proper colour? I'm thinking that your colour of choice for your dream Ferrari would be Modena red right? Either that or black, let's say.
This is not the case here. This particular Ferrari Testarossa is not red as you might think or as the name suggests. It is pain white. Yes. White. Most of the time, unusual colours don't fit every car. And, in this case, white is an unusual colour for a Ferrari and it fits. I really think it does. As much as a lot of Ferrari enthusiasts will hate me, I do have to say that it looks good. Probably even better than a red one looks. Although a bit of modifications wouldn't hurt I think it's a nice picture. Good angle as well.

911 by ~jonnyChoceur:911. That number is synonymous with precision, flawlessness and German tradition. Throughout the years they have been proven worthy of the name "supercar". Like the Porsche 911 is a supercar, this can be called a superpicture. Let's start with the background: an industrial one, very raw and if you are a keen Need For Speed player, you might make a resemblance between this and the Zone Industrielle track.
Anyway, the lighting: basically a spot-light which shows the cars' shape, beautiful round edges and of course the contrast between the dark regions and lit-up ones. Also the more noticable contrast is the one between the dark background and the silver colour of the car.
From this point of view, I think that this is the best colour choice for this picture. Mostly a picture with black and white tones, the blue sky adds a drop of colour to this particular picture, basically being the last great detail to this wonderful car portrait.

-
Rocking It Old School by *notbland:Old-school Mercedes: big front grill, squared shapes, square-like headlights and rearlights, the headlight whippers; that's what I think of when someone says: early 90s Mercedes E Class. And this one makes no difference. The whole blurry effect is like a time machine which is kind of taking you back into that period of Mercedes glory.
I don't know what makes this picture so special. Could it be the car? Could it be the the magical background? Is it the warm colours of both car and background which give it a magical touch? I don't know, I guess it's all of them blending into one great picture showing one great piece which deserves a special place of its own in the Mercedes and the world automotive industry.

The times they are changing by ~McKhaos:An effect which is popular these days among car photographers. I like it as well. And this one, made by McKhaos, is probably one of my favourites. First of all there's the subject: the new Honda Civic Type R. Best colour choice (even though this was probably a coincidence or /and just good luck). Like the artist's comment says, the car looks way ahead of its time, too add to this effect, the back ground has been made in a sepia tone.
Although it seems that no extra contrast was added, we can say for sure that this old and new contrast exists in this particular picture. I also like the perspective, very low postion of the camera. Nice shot, couldn't imagine it in a better way.

just another aston martin by ~jonnyChoceur:A gorgeous Aston Martin in a tunnel of some sort, the dark ominous background is the perfect setting for such a beast. You can just imagine hearing the dragons roar engine note echoing inside a cave.

-
AUDI R8 by ~deadsumo:Making an R8 look sexy isn't very hard but you'd be amazed how many people seem to get it wrong. Deadsumo however gets it very right showing us the sexy agression that is everything the R8 designers intended.

Sunday-Subway by ~flameartist:A lotus emerging from the depths of a tunnel, almost like a boxer would in some prize fight, looking mean and ready to go.

-
The Wall by *notbland:Webb Bland, who goes by the name of notbland shows us his great eye for composition with this shot of this yellow Gallardo with its sexy lines agains the blue hues of a metal and concrete wall.

-
Racing Sunset by ~magmen:While not a shot of a whole car, I still rather like it, good lighting and compostion, showing of those bright red Rototra calipers which will come in handy on that track.
Shot picked by both TVRfan and AZskylineGTR

Trial Celica by ~couleur:TVRfan's thoughts:This is one of my most favourite shots of a modified car on DeviantArt, mainly because of the lighting, the colors, the angle and the motion blur.
AZskylineGTR's thoughts:An excelent photo of the Trial Celica. Nice crisp lines with just a hint of an angle and motion blur giving a good sensation of speed.
