When Film was launched a while ago, we got a great flood of emoticons for Film makers from a contest. They're fantastic emoticons! The one downside is that there were no emotes made that reflected the Animation side of the film community. Animators Almost never use actual Film in their work, they use, paper, pencils, peg bars, Animation discs, field guides, col erase pencils, electric erasers, 3d programs, computers, tablets, and a menagerie of other tools to make amazing animated short films that you can view on deviantART. We've decided that the time has come to balance out the scales. We challenge you to make some emoticons just for animators! The emoticons can be showing any type of animation from classical, stop motion, to 3d (probably not flash since it falls under a different category for animation, but I'm sure ^Age2003 would love some flash emoticons as well, they just wont qualify for the contest). Heres the details!

There will be two or three categories for winning:

2D animation
Effectively portray 2D or classical animation in an animated emoticon

3D animation
Effectively portray 3D animation in an animated emoticon

Other animation (special)
This section only applies if there are enough submissions for this area.
Effectively portray a different type of animation IE Stop motion, cut out animation, etc.

Rules:
> Emoticon Must be animated
> Must be uploaded to the right category
> create as many entries as you want, but you can only win once
> Must abide by deviantARTs submission policies
> must not be reflecting "flash" animation as it is a different category.
> Emoticons must be submitted to the Contest Category: category>category> Animation emote Contest
> Entry must be in before 11:59pm (PST) on October 11th
