Feeling inspired?

~PoppyDadswell:iconPoppyDadswell: reports, August 13, 2008
~Visit galleries, exhibitions and museums regularally.Bring a sketchbook and pencil along to jot down whatever that tickles your fancy.

~Remember that special cafe down the side street that services that unique hot chocolate?Go there, order that hot chocolate and sit at a window seat and draw the passers-by and the other regulars.Who knows, you could end up like :iconmensaman:, who had an excited waiter bring out the cook to view his works!

~Relax.Take breaks from art; walk the dog, have a good nights sleep, read a book, whatever.

~Read. The library is your friend.Browse anything that takes your fancy. For me, its history, the past, historical dress, clothes and culture.Photocopy anything that inspires you.

~Keep a word book and a picture book for anything that inspires sparks of the imagination; a witty quote from a book, something funny your kid sister said, a page from Vogue &c..

~Search the Internet for inspiration (refrain ffrom copying though!)See below for links.

~Travel.Go aboard if you can.If you can't, go on a day trip with a gaggle of art friends & take photos of everything that catches the eye; people, architure.Research before you go and attend any museums and galleries.

~Bring a camera, sketchbook and pencil everywhere. You never know when a flash of inspiration may hit you.

~Listen to music apropiate to your art.If you want to create a moody piece, listen to Eminem or Beethoven. If you want to create a serene mood in your art, listen to Chopin or Feist.Classical music is said to be great for concentration, but is not everyone's liking, so find your genre of music and use it to your advantage.

Here are some bright, young things who inspire me.They might just inspire you too!
