Ars Technica has published a great
review of
TinEye, a search engine that would analyze an image and report where it (or modified versions) has been found on the Web. It's ideal for searching for ripped images which is a major issue here on deviantART or (assuming no possible copyright violations) to find the origin of an image. (Trying searching for
Lenna!)
It seems that (as I have read in other new articles) the search engine was previously in an invitation-only mode but it now has opened for the public. I have successfully registered for an account and it looks very interesting so far.

so love me for my scars,
hate me up to the stars.
I'll see you around the bridge of no return
forever wanting, fearing the burn.
