As with all of the interviews that I have done, and will do, there's a touch of humor, and a lot of seriousness. I'm trying to help this community learn something about some of its members, things they wouldn't normally think to ask someone. Maybe this will help you get to know Ryan a little better than you knew him before.

r aver pe      a: ok, as an interviewee you have a few rights to consider, the first being any question that i ask you that you don't want to answer, you don't have to, although it would be appreciated if you wouldn't hold back. insulting me is fine, just be nice and understand that as a staff member for your website, i might be forced to submit bad poetry. before we start, do you have any questions?

Liquisoft: Yes. Whats the average flood ratio of the Nile River?

r aver pe      a: if i had any clue i'm sure i'd live as far away from the nile as possible.
r aver pe      a: now.
r aver pe      a: you've been a member of this community for quite some time, almost since its creation, in all of your time here, what have you learned?

Liquisoft: I think, more than anything, I've learned tolerance. There are just as many idiots online as there are mature, intelligent people. Whether I want to or not, I'm going to have to deal with the idiots sooner or later, and I feel that I've learned, out of necessity, to tolerate ignorance. People are people so why should it be...oh wait...I'm getting into a Depeche Mode song again.

r aver pe      a: stellar, just what i wanted to touch upon.
r aver pe      a: so, apparently i'm not alone in the belief that there are idiots out there, deviantART is a community which encompasses all social circles, and i've seen a rise in the immaturity of its members, but along with that rise, you seem to be less and less involved in the community.. is there something going on there or am i reading too far into things?

Liquisoft: The community, as a whole, is becomming too over-crowded, in my opinion. I feel that this over-crowded state is lessening the impact my work has. So many people are submitting work and whatnot to all of the art-based community sites. It just seems practically worthless for me to participate as much as I once did. I only submit things nowadays to get feedback and to improve my work. Peer opinions are the most valuable to me, but as the community grows, I'm getting less and less feedback.
Liquisoft: I'm also becoming busier than I used to be.
Liquisoft: I used to have plenty of time to work on stuff all day. Now that I've got a large school schedule, plus a job, plus a girlfriend (who's wonderful, btw), it's difficult to juggle everything.

r aver pe      a: bahahaha nice shout.

Liquisoft: As a result, I'm submitting less work.

r aver pe      a: you're still one of the "powers" of this community, only to a lesser degree, because of all of the new members. are you currently working on anything that will "wow" the community, even considering its size?

Liquisoft: Well, I'm not out to "wow" anybody, really. I'm out to improve myself and to help others, as there are SO many people who need all the help they can get. Some major events are coming up with liquisoft.com and other projects, but I don't expect everybody to wet themselves over it. My projects are, more or less, just to help people escape from their everyday lives. Also, I'm helping out a lot at tutorialforums.com and the pixeljunction forums; answering any design-related questions I can.
Liquisoft: Gotta spread the love, baby.

r aver pe      a: speaking of liquisoft.com, where do you see your site a year from now?
r aver pe      a: (considering you still love me enough to keep me there.)

Liquisoft: A year from now, everybody can expect at least 3 redesigns to have happened, plus a lot more flash involvement. I'm also going to slowly orient things towards color and design aspects along with information that others can learn from. Perhaps some php or cgi will make it's way in, too. We'll see.
Liquisoft: yes i'll still have you as a staff member.

r aver pe      a: you just got to a point where your site is compatible with all browsers, it's going to be difficult to progress from here and still hold on to that aspect, for each new redesign, are you going to stick with the compatibility, or move away from it in order to come out with a better looking site?

Liquisoft: Well, I've found that its entirely possible to create a stunning design while keeping compatability. I'm going to keep the site compatible as much as I can, as many people still use netscape (for some reason beyond my comprehension) and I don't want netscape users to see anything different than IE users. I'm sure that things will progress smoothly throughout the redesigns, but if for some reason I come up with a kick-ass idea that doesn't work in netscape, I'm going to have to just go with the idea.

r aver pe      a: absolutely, don't conform to the masses! bahaha.
r aver pe      a: a while ago, you started a forum thread, asking who everyone's favorite deviant is, you're one of mine, but.. who's yours?

Liquisoft: Honestly, I don't really have ONE. I have several favs of mine that aren't selected by their work, but by their personalities. Jark, you(liquify), socialtool, realitysquared, dspayre, princesnoopy, brazensix, and the MIA jcterminal are my favs.
Liquisoft: Jcterminal is actually a pretty nice guy. He's just opinionated and loves to argue.

r aver pe      a: jcterminal will be sorely missed by a lot of deviants. let's not stir up the controversy surrounding his departure. he is a really nice guy, even to me, which is scary 'cause you know how incredibly insane i am.
r aver pe      a: before i wrap this up and run to post it on deviantART where it will sit before being accepted. do you have any questions for me or things you'd like to tell the community?

Liquisoft: To the community, I'd like to say that the internet is not everything. Do not worship an individual because they make pretty wallpapers, like them for being good people. Wallpapers and skins are practially useless things that serve a short purpose on people's desktops before they're replaced by something else.
Liquisoft: Also, just be yourselves and do not comform to some odd mentality. Being yourself is the best thing you can be.
Liquisoft: I sound like a Sunday Morning Special.
Liquisoft: Oh well.
