10 poems I loved to read part: I

=Nielso:iconNielso: reports, 1d 1h ago
Because there are so many poems submitted in one day and so many that aren't been read. I've placed some here that deserve it. I know that there are more poems that do but these are to start with. It took me a long time to read them all and sorting them out.
These are the first 10.
I'll try to do this every week/month if possible.
I hope you like them.

Greets,
Nielso

V&W Lit Event Week 1: Blood, the Moon, and Clichés

*twilight-apple:icontwilight-apple: reports, August 29, 2008
The vampire and werewolf literature event starts on Monday, which means you all get to start writing now (if you want) and posting in a couple of days. Yay! :w00t:

Here are the topics and guidelines for the week 1 contest and the month-long contest. Read them carefully, and write your brains out. :D

Week 1: Vampires and Blood or Werewolves and the Moon
We all know about the fascination vampires have with their most popular form of sustenance, and the control the full moon has over the most primitive side of the werewolf. This is your chance to write your own interpretation of that relationship.

Remember, be creative, be original, and be yourself. Don’t work so hard that you stay up all night every night this week writing. You’re welcome to write about your own characters, those you’ve written about before, but only yours.

You’re welcome to use poetry or prose for your creations, and all genres of fiction are welcome, from horror to fantasy to romance to philosophical and all the others in between. If you choose prose, try and limit your tale to a 3000 word limit.

Everyone is welcome to participate, and everyone is limited to 2 submissions each.

Vampire entry judges: *bekkia and *denlm.

Werewolf entry judges: *twilight-apple and ~ZomaS-M.

Prizes: *denlm will be donating something from the winner’s wish list to the winning vampire entry. The club ~Everything-Werewolf will be featuring the winning werewolf entry in a journal.

Send a note to either *bekkia or *twilight-apple with a link to your entry and ‘Week 1 Vampire Entry’ or ‘Week 1 Werewolf Entry’ in the title. Make sure you send your note to the correct judge.

:star: The deadline for Week 1 entries is September 6th, 11:50pm Pacific time.

Month-long Contest: Breaking Through the Old Clichés
Here is your opportunity to write something no one has ever seen before. We are looking for vampire and werewolf stories that shatter the stereotypes, like Dracula being an old man with a fetish for capes and young female necks, and werewolves being mindless hunters in ratty jeans.

We want you to take the old molds and set them on fire until you’ve completely wiped them off the face of the earth.

Again, poetry and prose are welcome, in all genres and all forms, but try and keep to that 3000 word limit.

You don’t want to overwhelm your wonderful judges, do you? :D

Everyone is welcome to participate, and everyone is limited to 2 submissions each.

Judges: *bekkia and *twilight-apple.

Prizes: *bekkia and *twilight-apple will donate a 3 month sub to the winning vampire entry and the winning werewolf entry. The club ~Everything-Werewolf will be featuring the winning werewolf entry in a journal.

Send a note to both *bekkia and *twilight-apple that includes a link to your entry with ‘Month-Long Vampire Entry’ or ‘Month-Long Werewolf Entry’ in the title.

:star: The deadline for the month-long contest is September 30th, 11:50pm PST.

:star: All winners and honourable mentions will be featured in a winners’ news article once the entire event has been completed and judged. All winners will also be featured in a journal done by *twilight-apple and by *bekkia. :star:

I know that some of the prizes don’t look like much, but we are looking for amazing, original pieces of work. I’m sure you’ll get more than your fair share in terms of compliments and pieces of advice when you post your entries. Aren’t support and constructive comments the best prizes when you write a piece you’re proud of?

And a fair number of people have offered journal features as prizes. This gives your work exposure to the different corners of dA. Who doesn’t love exposure?

Start writing, and make sure you enjoy yourself! If you have questions, feel free to ask.

*twilight-apple and *bekkia

:star: remember, people, the event doesn't start until Monday, and all entries must be new deviations. we won't be accepting anything that was posted on dA before September 1st.

Ugh. No idea what I would write. Normally vampires/werewolves are always just secondary characters or something....-.-
Poetry *perks up* as in like, a short piece? Hum. I doubt I'll win but I'll probably think about it and never post in the endxD

I'm pretty excited about this. :D I shall certainly try to enter the month-long contest, even though it's a pretty tall order!

I don't know how many weekly contests I'll be able to enter, but I'm most excited about the children's literature week, and I'll do all I can for it. Have I already offered to give a journal feature to any winning children's literature pieces? I can't remember! :slow:
