Today we launch a new community called *Acid-Burst-Love-Fed aka The Acid Burst Love Federation. Please, read on.








So, what is this federation?

ABL is a community dedicated to collecting art that means a lot -- art that goes kaboom inside you.

What we want is the art that you find too important or too touching or maybe even too disturbing to explain.

You know what it is about. The art that leaves you speechless. When you view it, it changes who you are. At that point the language and the thought you've learned so far is not enough. You might feel something completely new.

And when you create art like that, you can only pray that it will reach someone. It cannot be forced.



What do we do?

1 ABL wants to show your most meaningful creations to the community. Give them to us. We will put them in our gallery.

2 We collect and feature the art that you love. Each month we will create a new collection of favourites based on a certain theme. And you are welcome to help us!

3 Then there are a bunch of other activities. Currently, the most important one is a contest called Silence



Silence

Your deviations on dA are tacit. This text on your computer display stays quiet. I'm mouthing the words as I write. I can't make you hear me. Do I need to? What does it mean to be so silent? Is it a relief or a pain? Do I feel lonely or peaceful or do I feel anything at all?

I can't say. So, please, show me what is the meaning of silence -- for you.

You can paint it, draw it, write it, sculpt it, design it, photograph it. Whatever is your medium, your task is to reach us. Show the others what is the import of silence in your life -- why it is, where it is. For what purpose it is, if any.



The Rules

Note the contest submissions to *Acid-Burst-Love-Fed with "Silence" written in the subject field.

The final day for submissions is the 1st of November.



The Six Winners

Three of the winners will be chosen by a jury. They will evaluate not only the technical dimension, but also the weight of artistic expression.

This is obviously a subjective and personal thing to evaluate. But that's what ABL is about -- the courage to let art touch you, affect you. The judges simply decide which submissions affected them the most. And only after that they analyze the technical side of the piece.

The jury will be announced later on.

In addition there will be a poll to choose three federal favourites.

If by the end of the contest there are less than eight submissions, the amount of winners will drop to four.



The Prizes

The artists chosen by the jury:

1 Twelve month subscription. A permanent journal feature.

2 Six month subscription. A permanent journal feature.

3 Three month subscription. A permanent journal feature.


The three artists chosen by the poll:

All will be awarded one month subscription and a permanent journal feature.
