Some of those artists are amazing! Thanks for posting the link in the eljay commu, I might not have seen this otherwise!

But there's various peoples in your list who are thieves reposting official art from Matsuri Hino as if it was theirs.

There's also a lot of recolored manga, which is really not fair to list next to real art.
I mean, recoloring is fun and all, but recolored pages are not like the pics of people who actually drew stuff on their own and took time and all. (Especially not fair to put theft next to people who made awesome art like MrSloth.)

I think you should at least remove the people reposting official art as if it was their art, and we should all report them to the admins. It's against the DA rules, and it's a breach of copyright, not to mention it's plain wrong.

Maybe you wanna remove the recolored manga images too, or at least separate them from the real fanarts, putting them like in a second category or something?

Reposting official art on DA is against the rules of the TOS, so they're in breach of agreement and risking a ban or deletion anyway...


I'll make a list to help you:

Theft:

pureholly : Stolen VK merchandise art, that pic is by Matsuri Hino, not by the art thief posting it on DA.

Jade-Kinneas-Kaiba and Mitsukino-Tennyo didn't even bother recoloring, they just posted from the official art, which is just plain theft since reposting official art on DA is against the rules.

Same for theprincesskingdom, it's official art, so it's theft according to the DA rules.

Both pics by chii00 are really pretty, but just traces from the manga, so it's also not fair to display next to art by people who actually drew by themselves.

Recolored manga:

One of Blackened Wing's pics, but I think it's also modified, so don't know if it's as bad?

The pic by EliotLienthal is just a recolor of a manga page.

All the stuff of hystericaldice is just recolors.

There's so many problems on DA because of people tracing and stealing official art to try and get attention or because they have photobucket syndrom.

I can't draw to save my life, but I'm on DA to follow the art of some of the artists I like, and it pisses me off to see so many people getting ahead using art that isn't theirs, when there's some really talented people actually putting effort into art.

But I just wanted people to see these types of art, even if it's re-coloured. It's true it isn't fair, but colourinf does add a bit of life into the pictures. And I'll be more careful next time.
