The contestThe original idea came from Usain Bolt's world record in 200m where he raced through that distance in 19.30sec

And since 92 of you think this is a good idea the contest is a go
The rules1. This is a photography contest so only photographs are allowed.
2. It has to be a long exposure photograph with an exposure time from 15 to 20 sec. (I know that the idea was to be a 19 seconds exposure contest but I understand that many of you don't have a camera with a
bulb function. Most point and shoot cameras go from 15 to 20 seconds in whatever manual mode they have so in order to be fair to you guys there is this small flexibility to the exposure time)
3. HDRi photographs are
not allowed
4.
1 entry per deviant. All submissions must have the original exif data on them. Any pictures that don't have them will be disqualified. (you can always remove the exif data after the competition is over)
Film IS allowed as long as you write your exif data in your description5. You can participate with a new deviation only. Any entries submitted to deviantArt before today's date
08/26/2008 will be disqualified.
6. In the description of your submission write a brief summary of the setup and procedure. Nothing fancy, just if you used any filters or anything else

etc.

whilst taking the picture. Also give a link back to this contest.
7. Basic editing is allowed. Crop, rotate, curves, brightness & contrast, levels, burning & dodging, B&W conversion, cloning out dust spots.
8. Have fun and try your best.

"contest entry" In the note just include the
thumbnail of your entry (i.e. :thumbxxxxx: )
MiscellaneousContest entries will be posted and updated regularly in a separate journal so that the judges will have an easier task keeping track. Hopefully there will be quite a few entries to keep up to!
Long exposure requires a tripod so if you have one use it. If you don't have one no worries. There are plenty of ways to support your camera. (rocks, ledges, cars, you name it)
This is a photography contest in general. not waterscapes, not landscapes or nature only. Have a look at the samples in the features section where you can see that long exposure can be applied anywhere.
I'd appreciate if you advertise this contest as much as you can. It is good to be the winner among ten entries but it is even better when you are the winner among 200 entries

Devious Comments
Well, since I have praticed a bit of long exposure with film I give a tip to all contestants that want to use film. Provia F ( from Fuji ) doesnt have Shwarzchild effect. At last not if you dont do long astronomical poses for hours, I have no practiced that.

If every camera would have a 19 second exposure, it would have been narrowed to 19 secs instead of 15-20.
