“THINKING IN OR OUT OF THE BOX CONTEST”
The main idea for the concept came up for the simple fact that there are not too many challenging contest themes around deviantart lately, so this contest is to keep you guys trying to find new and amazing creations, sometimes techniques and skills are amazing but when a concept is repeated over and over again the techniques and skills can’t be excused, if you have amazing skills then use them to create something totally innovating out of this world, something that not everyone sees every day, we know it is actually difficult to create something new in this artistic medium because most of the things have already been created but not everything has been thought.

To us, thinking inside of the box is what you see everyday, no risks no new innovation, can be concepts that you have seen repeated times, some of those better executed than others but at the end it is the same old thing, sometimes artists go by the safe zone without exploring the wonderful world of creation, In the other hand, the Out of the Box Thinking is that one that doesn’t limit himself on doing what is in vogue but he/she wants to explore and create, further beyond anything else, creating an image that you know is never been done before. I bet that by now you all know what the contest is about.

There will be two winners one for the In the box category and one for the out the box category

In The Box
Thinking inside the box means accepting the status and doing the most common pieces to express whatever you want to express with your piece of art.

How many girls with see through effects, bunnies and ghostly backgrounds have you already seen on Deviant Art????

Out of the box
Out-of-the box thinking requires an openness to new ways of seeing the world and a willingness to explore, invent, CREATE NEW THINGS AROUND

How many times have you seen a girl trapped on, what should be a bell, with a roach and fabric roses all around asides from eyes inside mice holes on Deviant Art?

How many times have you seen a little mouse waiting for his ride while wondering why his glasses are broken?

How many times have you see water steps and wooden puzzle toys together on a piece on Deviant Art?

How many times have you seen the MALE FIGURE being used in such a beautiful way on Deviant Art?

And remember don’t let others think for you, THINK YOURSELF



THE RULES OF THE CONTEST

You have to create one entry for each Category, one for the IN the Box Category and One for the Out of the Box Category. Why this? Let’s be honest, anyone wants to have their pieces categorized into the so feared In the Box category so, we require you to create one in each and no misunderstandings or bad feelings will be created amongst Judges and Competitors

The Competitor that doesn’t create one entry for each of the categories will be automatically disqualified by the end of the contest.

ONLY NEW ENTRIES CREATED SPECIALLY FOR THIS CONTEST ARE ALLOWED. If any of the judges finds out the entry has been used for several contests and stuff alike the competitor will be disqualified.

NO COLLABORATIONS ARE ALLOWED, NO “INSPIRED IN” ARE ALLOWED. we are sorry. But we are looking for a very original entry by a very original INDIVIDUAL.

Note about the Rule Above= You can Obviously Inspire on a song or poem, by the “No Inspired in” restriction we meant that we do not want to see you copying an idea someone else had and bettering a few things followed by presenting it as yours. That is not going to be tolerated.

FREE IDEAS ARE ALLOWED Everything you can think of is allowed, as far as you follow the other rules above stated.

MATURE CONTENT IS ALLOWED If is not Pornographic.

DESCRIPTIONS ARE A MUST You might write down what you wanted to represent in each of your entries in a detailed way, if it comes to the time of Judging and we do not find a description in one of any competitor’s piece the person will be disqualified.

PHOTOMANIPULATORS MUST LIST STOCK THAT HAS BEEN USED And that applies for any other type of art that has used stock for reference, in the case of Traditional art that is, or the use of stock textures for final effects, it must be ALL LISTED IN THE DESCRIPTION.

ALL TYPES OF ART ARE ALLOWED, WE MEAN ALL THAT IS THERE TO BE EXPOSED AS A VISUAL IMAGE. Literature Is NOT ALLOWED sorry, this is only a Visual Contest nevertheless TEXT ART IS ALLOWED.

Send a Note to with the subject. In the Box Entry with the entry thumb in it, and Out the Box Entry containing the entry’s thumb of that category inside. You can send both entries together, or one by one.
