V&W Lit Event Week 4: Isolation or Realization

*twilight-apple:icontwilight-apple: reports, September 20, 2008
It’s week 4, and we’ve read a lot of wonderful werewolf and vampire stories. I hope everyone is still writing their butts off for the month-long contest. :D

For a list of vampire entries visit *bekkia’s page, and for a list werewolf entries visit *twilight-apple’s page.

Here are the topics and guidelines for the week 4 contest, and a last reminder about the month-long contest.

Week 4: Isolation from Humankind or Human Realization
There are many stories out there that talk about the isolation that vampires and werewolves go through, them being different than human beings. There are also a large number of stories about those human beings figuring out that they’re not the only people on the planet.

We are giving you the chance to write about one of those situations. You can write anything as long as it involves vampires or werewolves and their isolation from humankind, or human beings discovering that vampires or werewolves exist. For example, a vampire could wander the city, wishing he could walk with humans in the daylight, or a man could discover his girlfriend is actually a werewolf.

Go nuts, and have fun. :)

Prose and poetry are welcome as always, and you are encouraged to write outside of the horror genre. Not all stories about vampires and werewolves are horror stories, although many can be. Try and limit your stories to no more than 3000 words, but if it’s a bit over we won’t kill you.

Everyone is welcome to participate, and everyone is limited to 2 submissions each.

Vampire entry judges: *bekkia and =cxsankh.

Werewolf entry judges: *twilight-apple and =Kira73.

Prizes: *Sefardim will be donating an art request to the winning vampire entry. =Kira73 will be donating something from the winner’s wish list and a journal feature to the winning werewolf entry. The club ~Everything-Werewolf will be featuring the winning werewolf entry in a winner’s journal.

Send a note to either *bekkia or *twilight-apple with a link to your entry and ‘Week 4 Vampire Entry’ or ‘Week 4 Werewolf Entry’ in the title. Make sure you send your note to the correct judge.

:star: The deadline for Week 4 entries is September 27th, 11:50pm Pacific time.

Month-long Contest: Breaking Through the Old Clichés
So, you pretty much have to take one, or more, of the standard vampire or werewolf clichés and throw it in the trash. I’m still looking for a ‘vampires running the IRS’ story. :D

Everyone is welcome to participate, and everyone is limited to 2 submissions each.

Judges: *bekkia and *twilight-apple.

Prizes: *bekkia and *twilight-apple will donate a 3 month sub to the winning vampire entry and the winning werewolf entry. The club ~Everything-Werewolf will be featuring the winning werewolf entry in a journal.

Send a note to both *bekkia and *twilight-apple that includes a link to your entry with ‘Month-Long Vampire Entry’ or ‘Month-Long Werewolf Entry’ in the title.

:star: The deadline for the month-long contest is September 30th, 11:50pm PST.

:star: All winners and runners-up will be featured in a large winners news article once judging has finished.

Keep writing! We love that people are enjoying this lit event! (And hugs to the new lit seniors!)

I have a story ready to enter, but it might be a bit outside of the theme. Does physical isolation from humanity work as well?
