~javoec:iconjavoec: reports, June 9
ok, this is the mother of all the futurama news, futurama is back again (like the 2nd coming of jesus!). finally the official press release we were waiting for was posted today at the comedy central press.
not only futurama returns on comedy central, but it returns with 26, yes 26 brand new episodes that will be available in the mid 2010 (and fox retains the option to license the original runs of the new episodes to a broadcast network)

since i've seen many futurama fans at da, i guess this is great news for all of them (including me)!.

R.I.P Toonami 1997-2008

~KingLame:iconKingLame: reports, September 21, 2008
-Animenewsnetwork-

Bye-Bye Toonami:

America's Cartoon Network has revealed at Georgia's Anime Weekend Atlanta convention this morning that it will end its Toonami programming block tonight after 11 years. The official announcement will be made during tonight's final run, with an "important message" during the 10:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. Naruto has been the only Japanese series in this Saturday evening block recently, but Toonami used to host a variety of Japanese-animated programs when it began as a weekday afternoon block in 1997. Among those titles were Voltron, Robotech, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Ronin Warriors, G-Force: Guardians of Space, Blue Submarine No. 6, Tenchi Muyo!, Cardcaptors, Zoids, .hack//SIGN, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, The Big O, Outlaw Star, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Cyborg 009, Duel Masters, Astro Boy, Gundam, Rave Master, Zatch Bell, One Piece, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Pokémon, MÄR, The Prince of Tennis, Megaman Star Force, Bakugan Battle Brawlers, and Blue Dragon. The Toonami Jetstream online streaming service will reportedly still continue, and Cartoon Network is working to import the Japanese-animated Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z spinoff that is based on its own Powerpuff Girls series.

Two episode of Naruto are currently scheduled for tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The 2002 live-action Spider-Man film will run instead of Toonami on September 27, although most television listings have not been updated yet. Batman: Gotham Knight, this summer's Japanese-animated video tie-in to The Dark Knight film, will then run on October 4 at 8:00 p.m. After Batman: Gotham Knight, an episode of Naruto, "Powerful Helper," will run at 9:30 p.m., but there are no other episodes scheduled yet.

I think why Toonami just died becouse it was place on a Saturday and only showing 2 hours of show (I think the only good show was there is samurai jack). They shoundn't have moved to only on Saturday night. Back then when Toonami was the king of nonstop action shows 3pm to 6pm, 5 days a week; MAN THEY WERE UP THERE! But now, BAM! Dead.

I think the whole "NARUTO" thing was way getting over their heads. Yes, DBZ was big as well, but Toonami had many shows that you may like to watch then DBZ. That's their Problem (in my opinion). They were sooo cooky that Naruto went so "BIG" on ratings, they didn't care what shows was in their block or the limited time they have.....Well "Had". But I'm just hating on Naruto. If they go and get that 3 and or 4 hours block and add some new/old school show's, they might not had died!

Plus the new look for Tom.....SUCKS! I think about a good 100% of you guys like's the old-school face Tom then the new one. I know I do! The style of Tom wasn't there like the old days. And every time when a show ended, Toonami show a little "Music Video". Here what I'm taking about:
[link]
Once you see that, you knwo that's Toonami thing. And who can't for get the little intros they put in once a show about to come up:
[link]
You see that little intro and that make's want to see this show! That's the thing that Toonami once had!

They "CAN" come back to weekdays to 3pm to 6pm and "RULE" but sadly, no....

I don't know what to say...

Seriously, this was one of the things that made anime huge in America...And even though it did go downhill around 2004, and lose a ton of it's content... It's still hard to see it go.

I watched it when it first started in 1997...and haven't really watched since 2004, ever since Cartoon Network changed too.

Still, RIP

Toonami 1997-2008.

For the hell of it, and everyone making fun of us for being upset...

Watch this, and remember what it all was...Remember when you would still tune in the afternoons/afternoons...

If that doesn't jog your memory...Then nothing from Toonami will.

arrrr!!! cartoon network always cancels the good shows.
:iconkinglame:
Like I said "But I'm just hating on Naruto". So relax, "I" just don't like that show. Cartoonnetwork can fix Toonami like put them back on weekdays. Tell me, would you like to see 2 new Naruto episodes evey saturday or watch 5 new Naruto episodes Mon to Fri? Think about it! But sadly no.

Toonami I will miss you!

Cartoon Network started to get shittier since Naruto started airing on there, along with the new Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. *sigh* I miss the good old days. Back in 03, I would watch CN for the anime. In those days, no one cared what anime was on. They only watched it cause it was anime. Now everything is dead. R.I.P. Toonami. Die Cartoon Network.

I do think Cartoonetwork is stupid. Look at the crappy cartoon/anime they have out...AND TAKING OFF TOONAMI!?
Cartoonnetwork is pretty much dead to me.

:( Sad
