Well when you think of a dragon, you basically think of a giant lizard, big broad, blunt head, curved, short neck, and a long tail. That basically what they evolved to look like until evolution took place. Just like all dinosaurs, they evolved from a singled-celled organism, than grew fins that swam in the. Than they began to walk on land looking like a small lizard, like creature (like a gecko perhaps) Since at the beginning of the dinosaur age, all the dinosaurs started out small, so for the dragon to be small would make sense, but as carnivores showed up, it became competition, survival for the fittest (Darwinism). The ones who were lucky enough to escape from becoming someone's meal, they had the priveledge to pass on their gene to the next generation. With this, preferable genes that helped that lizard survive was passed on to the offspring. After a thousand years as all the dinosaurs grew to monstrous sizes, so did the dragon. From their they evolved the ability to breathe fire and fly. From their even a T_Rex was no match for them, thus allowing them to have a greater life span with less with less predators, giving them plenty of time to mate and reproduce. How did they survive when all dinosaurs became extinct ater the effects of the meteor. Well while some died, others beganto move their way into the ocean where they came from to begin with. They sacrfice their legs and wings for fins. Many years later they went back on land while others chose to stay in the waters feeling that they were suited better for it. From there, the dragons evolved into many other species.
The anatomy of a dragon is simple considering it is compared to that of a human. They had a long section of vertebrate as it ran down from the head to their tail. Dragons evolved to have a tail as it was useful if they had wings helped decrease fluid friction when flying as well as keep them stady and balanced. On land their tail was a useful weapon having enough force to crush the bones of a human to a small elephant. Dragon are very strong, well-built creatures, ut what makes them different between the sexes. Females have a broader more curved body as they have a small waist and big hips to help accompany for their eggs. Depending on the species, while some female dragons are more beautiful, in others the males are considered the ones with all the charm. Looks aren't everything though and for most of the males, the females look for muscular strong built males to help protect them and their nest. Sometimes the females can be muscular if they are forced to take care of their eggs alone. Females have another advantage not all males seem to have. While the males are the ones doing most of the hunting the females are given more time to collect historial documents and books in which they study from, making them more intelligent as well as faster. Though they do take turns protecting the nest to get a fair share of this knowledge. In some of the smaller species of dragon, they tend to stay in herds for social purposes which can be either dominanted by a male or female depending on the species. Groups are very useful for bonding as well as hunting.
