The Vampire and Werewolf Lit Event Winners List

*twilight-apple:icontwilight-apple: reports, October 11, 2008
The Winners List

First of all, *bekkia and I want to thank everyone who wrote, judged, donated prizes, and plugged everything in your journals during the Vampire and Werewolf Lit Event. This was a big word-of-mouth event, and I’m so happy that so many people enjoyed it. I want to do it again next year, but I’m clueless as to how to make it bigger with more support from all over dA.

Our wonderful lit GD’s plugged this event all month in their journals, and I can’t thank them enough. You three, and `GeneratingHype, gave me the idea to host a lit event, and I hope I didn’t disappoint you.

And a  goes to my second banana *bekkia. thank you so much, doll.

There were a total of 52 entries (I hope I counted correctly). That’s amazing, when you have to hunt around a little to find some vampire or werewolf literature on dA. Hopefully this event has increased the awareness of vampire and werewolf lit, and that writers have gained a few new watchers in the process.

Everyone is a winner, but there are some more exact winners, because we’re not drowning in money for subs and prints and so on. So, without further ado, here are your winners and runners-up. (if any of the links don't work, I apologize, but they all should work)

:star: Week 1:

Vampire:
Winner: Eve is the anima by ~Snow-Machine: [link]
Runner-up: Beyond Blood by *KilikaMel: [link]

Werewolf:
Winner: The Call by =Kira73: [link]
Runner-up: The Loneliest Sigh by *alterrnativeWRITING: [link]

:star: Week 2:

Vampire:
Winner: Beginning-Vampire Week 2 by ~Falling-Zephyr: [link]
Runner-up: Secrets Part Two by ~itisme1109: [link]

Werewolf:
Winner: Miksa, Amaguq and the Moon by =Kira73: [link]
Runner-up: The Hunter’s Fairytale by *alterrnativeWRITING: [link]

:star: Week 3:

Vampire:
Winner: The Charlotte Night by *ThornyEnglishRose: [link]

Werewolf:
Winner: Grandda’s Song by ~Penfury: [link]
Runner-up: A bedtime story by ~happymo: [link]

:star: Week 4:

Vampire:
Winner: Cavanaugh part 1 by ~NamelessShe: [link]
Runner-up: Lucifer’s Archangel by *alterrnativeWRITING: [link]

Werewolf:
Winner: Brother’s Keeper by ~Penfury: [link]
Runners-up: Once We Were Sacred by ~dpak: [link] and Cub-born by ~Leonca: [link]

:star:Month-Long:

Vampire:
Winner: Secrets by =paintedbluerose: [link]
Runner-up: 7-9-11 by ~NamelessShe: [link]

Werewolf:
Winner: Lady Luna, Queen of Twilight by *alterrnativeWRITING: [link]
Runners-up: Primal Need Teaser by =Kira73: [link] and Another Contest Entry by ~Link8522: [link]

To see all the entries, you'll have to look through my and *bekkia's journal archives.

If you're a winner, note me with what week or month you won and I will tell you what your prize is (if you haven't gotten it yet).

This event wasn’t about finding winners; this was about creating more stories about vampires and werewolves, and that they are more than cliché characters in horror movies. Just because they get a little nuts around blood and the moon and raw meat, that’s no reason to treat them like monsters.

I'm so proud I got first in the werewolf month-long! I actually kind of hated that short story, so I'm a little shocked it got any mention at all.

Epic contest is epic. There should be more like this. I know I'd want to be a part of it. :D

And congratulations to all the winners.
